HOLIDAY INN or THE SPY WHO LOVED ME

What's a young woman with a tarnished reputation to do when holed up in a tiny inn during a Christmas snow storm? Fall in love with the handsome Scotsman - or is he English? But he speaks French and Latin, too? Who is this gorgeous man? Scoundrel? Barbarian? or spy? Will he catch you lingering in the stairwell for a hot kiss or give it to you noisily on the kitchen counter until the cops are alerted? So sexy!

I love this narrator. She's one of my favorites so it felt as though I was listening to Elisa Braden or Sophie Darling's books, which I have all read/listened to. Although the Scots burr was difficult to understand at times I found it quite enjoyable.

Amazing!

It gets better at the end! I never can finish these stories to the end but the story of true love made it super pleasing to hear it to the end. These kind of stories normally get so boring after the characters finally fall in love but it has depth in the ending. I appreciate that. Not all perverse but lovely.

terrible narrator!

this narrator had it more important to make a good brogue then for listeners to understand. I couldn't understand anything!!! and she talks in whispers- you can't hear a thing. it is not my first audiobook in which the narrator had to make a brogue, and while I could understand all the others, this one is not clear!

Terrible Narrator

Could not listen to this narrator so I ended up enjoying this title on my Kindle app. Lovely romance with an entrancing sensual slow burn. Katherine Ashe knocks it out of the park again.

Hated It

** spoiler alert ** I was not crazy about the heroin. I can't believe she gave herself away to someone that didn't even offer her marriage. I also didn't like that she begged the hero to kiss her and she also at one time begged him to have sex with her. I wish she didn't act like such a whore.

Awful Narrator!!!

The worst narrator sounds so boring!!!!
Dull dull dull, narrator makes everyone sounds so dull. Couldn’t get through the story because of the narrator. Could have been good but couldn’t tell.

Could not get past the first 10 minutes

The narrator is truly, shockingly awful. She has this singsongy way of reading that is mortifying and so incredibly annoying I found myself physically grinding my teeth. Just...how did this get past editing? I usually suck it up if narrators are not the best, and usually putting the book on 2x speed makes everything better, but not this time. Run-- don't walk--the other way, right now.

(I didn't get a chance to figure out if the story is good or not, so I've given it a neutral 3 stars.)
