Publisher's summary

"An absolutely brutal novella that had me squirming in my chair." (Hunter Shea, author of We Are Always Watching)

How far would you go for revenge?

When a six-year-old girl is abused and left for dead by a pedophile known only as the "Rabbit Man" due to the claw marks left on her body, police follow every lead but reach only dead ends.

Hungry for justice, her grieving father abandons wife and child on a harrowing journey deep undercover into Miami's sex-offender colony under the Julia Tuttle Causeway. His purpose is simple: to find the "Rabbit Man" among them and put him in the ground.

Months later, with no one to trust and the pedophiles he lives among growing suspicious of his actions, he learns nothing is simple where the monsters live.

Loved It

Great short story by Duncan Ralston, Our protagonist is a real hero in my eyes, I could not imagine having something this horrible happen to my babies. We have way to many sicko's in these times, and our laws need to get tougher in dealing with people who hurt children, and rape in general. Perry Daniels did a great job of narrating, I have a few more of Duncan's books that I am looking forward to getting into.

Disturbing

A dark tale of vigilante justice. The narrator performs it well enough. The characters are realistic. The drama is intense.

What I Would Do

Duncan Ralston is phenomenal at telling you stories that you really don’t want to hear. He is quite good at finding a piece of you that you don’t want exposed and then pushing it. Coupled with that, his writing is so descriptive it becomes a hard pill to swallow. Not only are you right there in the moment, you feel everything and wonder, why am I listening to this. If you like to be abused while also experiencing a writer who can take you on a hell of a tale, look no further. As a father, this story was spot on. The question becomes who is the actual monster?

Mr Daniels did a great job with the narration. He provided the tension and mystery that was needed. I hope to hear more from him.

Every victims fantasy, a great read!

What can I say the author did a fantastic job writing this book and the narrator did a fantastic job conveying all the emotions in the book. It is a really freaking great book! Just so you know there is a trigger and it is child sexual abuse it is referred to more than once and sometimes with roundabout details. With the exception of that this was a really really good book and I recommend it… Oh yes, they also have violence but for the most part you really are cheering the violent person on. Having said that If you like reading about the grittier side of life oh good against evil and Goodwins you will love this book! I know I did!

Engrossing

"Where the Monsters Live" (2016) by Duncan Ralston is an engrossing novella about a father who sets out to find and kill the man who raped his six-year-old daughter. Towards this quest, the father abandons his home and family and lives among the homeless sex offenders in his city. The narration by Perry Daniels is well done. Highly recommended. Audiobook given free in exchange for honest review.

Tale Of A Hero

This is a great short story. Even though it was short, it did not feel rushed, and at times it made you feel like you were right there in the story. Recommended

Good Short Listen

Good fast short story. Quick and to the point but a good listen also. Even though it was short it didn't feel rushed in the part of the story it was telling. It almost felt like I was listening to an excerpt from a book but I also received the necessary back ground information so I could follow along and know what was going on. If you're looking for a quick but engaging story I would recommend this one.

I was provided a free copy of this book for my hones and unbiased review.

Vigilante dad

Duncan Ralston surprises me with every new book I read from him. His style is so diverse. He writes some very serious stuff as well as some bizzarro.
This is vigilante justice that is deserved. The only problem with what is done to these monsters, is that you can only kill them once
