Nothing new

It was published 20 years ago and is a bit dated. Well- narrated but boring.

Great read!

I used lots of the suggestions and I hope to share it some day soon with another widow.

Validating and useful

It’s like someone sat me down and REALLY explained it to me. I needed this so bad, and I will listen to it again and again.

Helpful

Very helpful during a difficult time. It was comforting to know I am not alone as well as bring things to my attention that I need to deal with.

Practical advice but performed terribly.

There are some good points and practical advice but I wish I would have read the book instead of listening to it. The performer sounds like she’s reading a fairytale to a group of children under the age of six. It’s hard to withstand and too difficult to believe what the author is saying when the reader is making it sound so cute, upbeat and fun.

Not impressed

As a widow, this book for one is mainly opinions on how a widow should move forward or behave. Also, you do not have to be elderly to be a widow. This is not a book I would recommend to other widows..

Outdated advice

This seems to be written for non professional women who were very dependent on their husbands. It assumes most widows are pretty helpless. It does not talk about feelings much, but handling unfamiliar tasks.
