About this listen

When a sexy, mature man of means encounters a silver vixen, healing her broken heart might be worth more than gold.

Dolores Chance.

When I was falling apart, I fell in love.

It wasn’t supposed to happen like this.

I ran away from life and ended up running into...his dog.

Actually, his dog ran into me. I don’t care for dogs.

Then I met the owner.

Garrett Fox.

When my neighbor’s sister came to visit,

I promised to show her around town.

I’m an investor in things, not people, not emotions.

I’m not a fan of love.

I’ve been burned before.

Then I met Dolores.

Romance has no age limit.

From author L.B. Dunbar comes another steamy romance for the over 40.

Good story

Male narrator wasn't super strong but he was okay. I've gritted my teeth through a number of the female narrator’s stories. She not bad but just doesn't contribute to the story. Her characters always seem mousy.

I've enjoyed all of the silver foxes. I did expect a little kink from Garrett with the way he started off teasing but that’s okay.

Lack of character development and slow plot

DNF after 3.5 hours (through the end of Chapter 12). Unlike other listeners, I thought that the narrators did okay.

The story was dragging; the plot wasn't developing. Dolores was constantly struggling with her self esteem, having lost her self confidence, particularly due to an unhealthy long-term relationship. For a host of reasons she doesn't trust men.

Garrett is a player. He immediately stops seeing a woman if she develops any form of affection for him. You can't even say that he ends the relationship, because he doesn't engage in relationships. He treats women as nothing more than nuisances.

Neither of the main characters have grown after 3.5 hours. It's constant mistrust and sourness. I've given it enough time that something, anything, should have happened by now. I listened for free because it's available in The Plus Catalog that's included with the Premium Plus subscription. I'd be very unhappy if I'd paid for it.
