Since childhood Nila Carter has been made to spend every weekend at the family cabin. In her teenage years she believes it to be a prison; as an adult it becomes her sanctuary and means to survive. Cassie Forrest isn't surprised to learn that the day she’s decided to get her life together is also the day the world ends. After all, she’s been on a self-imposed losing streak since her survivalist parents died: she’s stopped painting, broken off her engagement to Adrian and dated a real jerk. Publisher's summary
Even the best plans come undone.
With their supplies reclaimed and food enough for the future, the group at Barry's cabin can do more than just scrape by. Between fruitful gardens, great friends, and sturdy fences—not to mention karaoke—life in the zompoc is better than ever.
Nothing is perfect, however. Across the country, safe zones are mysteriously going dark, and Oregon's summer weather has turned the forest into a tinderbox. As the unknown danger closes in and smoke begins to fill the sky, the survivors are all too aware of how quickly plans unravel, fences fall, and luck runs out.

looove!
I'm only 2 hours in. and so far, and SLF has kept it real! I have never wanted a book turned into a show or movie so bad until now. I truly love this series!! It is my favorite out of all 3 seeies. I think the fact that all 3 series take place in the same world has helped make it feel so real. it's very apparent how much thought, and effort it took to write these books. SLF puts so much care into every detail of each character. By the end of these series, you literally feel like you went went through the zombie apocalypse with them. I love her writing bc I'm never left confused or disappointed. She knows exactly what she's doing, and i can honestly say that SLF has become one of my favorite writers. I would love to see a side book to the casacdia series, the way The city meshed into the end of the world series. There is so much she could do!!! Anyway, 10 out of 10 and i haven't even finished. If you haven't read Till the end of the world or The city series, ruuun, do not walk to get them!! They are worth every penny!!! PS. I want to give a shout out to ALL of the narrators from all 3 series!! No one would be able to feel these books without each of you! It's the Narrator that really brings these books to life, and I must say that all stars aligned when they chose them. I couldn't hype each one of them up enough!!!!! Ty for another beautiful book!!!
