Publisher's summary

An unfiltered and outrageously funny commentary on the threats to free speech in America from the legendary comedian, actor, and Emmy-nominated SNL writer.

Rob Schneider’s childhood in the San Francisco Bay area with parents of mixed-race backgrounds shaped his view of the world: that America affords the greatest opportunity for peoples from all nations and all faiths. But today, in this world gone mad, free speech is under attack. And Schneider keeps finding himself in controversy for questioning what woke ideology is doing to our great nation.

Still, he refuses to be censored. In his debut book, Schneider will make you laugh out loud as he tells his unique story of a Hollywood-comedian-turned-vocal-advocate for open dialogue. He takes listeners along for a ride through his life in show business (where he’s starred in 27 movies with his friend Adam Sandler), shares stories from the glory days of Saturday Night Live, and makes a persuasive case for fearlessness in speech and pushing the boundaries in comedy. Comedians matter because they have a unique position in society to stand up against tyranny. In this book, Schneider shares never-before-told personal stories about Chris Farley, Norm Macdonald, Christopher Walken, Dana Carvey, and Martin Landau, and other comedy legends.

You Can Do It! is part celeb memoir, part warning, and part siren call to action. It was said during the days of Covid the difference between a conspiracy theory and the truth was about six months. Influenced by his own experiences in Hollywood, Schneider illustrates his points about free expression with provocative commentary on things you aren't suppose to question, like identity politics, Covid tyranny, "global boiling," medical freedoms and more. Schneider refuses to believe he’s dangerous for saying what he thinks. In fact, the opposite is true—it’s dangerous to not question the narrative. It’s dangerous to not exercise your free speech.

That’s what Rob Schneider’s doing. And as this humorous, shocking, irreverent but insightful book shows listeners, you can do it too.

FANTASTIC

So provocative - the thoughts and questions that will occupy your mind are well worth the time and attention. Listening to the book was a fantastic decision - it feels very personal and Rob is animated throughout, giving the words more weight and meaning with his inflection.
It’s good, really good! Listen to it :)

Thought provoking, inspiring, & hilarious all in one

By far the best book I’ve ever listened to on freedom of speech! So inspiring, & such a great story teller & entertainer. Way to go Rob! Keep standing up for what you believe in your heart is right! Hopefully this book will inspire others to not be afraid & do the same with whatever they are passionate about in life.

Refreshing

Really really enjoyed this book! Schneider is both hilarious and intelligent. Love that he’s chosen common sense and not drink the Hollywood Kool-Aid!

He Frigging Did it

Rob is a force for truth... First off, we all know how funny he can be, this a fact, and if you dont think he is one of the funniest people around today, you are wrong and probably too dumb to understand this book, just scroll past and find some crayons to eat.

In full transparency, I'm a fan, from The Animal to Real Rob and all the Adam Sandler stuff, I enjoy his characters and sense of humor.
This book is humorous, but way more... Rob breaks down why free speech is what keeps us from becoming surfs and slaves, we need to be able to speak truth to power.

From the court jesters of old to Mort Saul, Carlin and Chappelle, comedy has always been a balancing act of not offending the king, while bringing truth to the people, and helping them make sense of a crazy culture..

Have been following Rob on X for a while and very quickly realized how flipping smart he is, he understands how much we have been mislead in pharmacology, agriculture and nutrition.. and he has spoken out on all those topics, and as such been "muted" by the MSM... They can't silence him...the man is extremely eloquent and rational.

He was willing to give up his career to speak out on these topics, and it could have been a more lucrative and easy ride, but no, he speaks his truth. There is a big mirror held up to society and a little Filipino man laughing at it, and it's friggin awesome. He isn't afraid to tell it like it is. He deserves to be heard, and I really think you will enjoy hearing it

Robs takes on the Kennedy assassination coverup, Covid, The Twitter files, and Hunter Biden are worth the price alone.

His stories of Mort Saul and his rise and cancellation are chilling, and show the need for preserving our 1A rights, and by extension our 2A rights.

When we have free speech we have the potential to grow as a cultural, can resolve conflicts peacefully and challenge the status quo.

It's intelligent, well written, and the Audible version feels like a personal audience with Rob. It's fun, educational and persuasive... slightly scary, but enjoyable.

I cannot recommend it highly enough and truly hope he is working on a follow up.

Thank you Rob, you did it. Love you brother.

Always funny!

Rob never fails to make me laugh. Even when the topics are serious.
Very informative writing here, I definitely recommend this book. If you like this book, I also highly recommend Norm Macdonalds book, “ Based on a True Story”!
