Ne ratez pas le prochain tome de la série Les Sorcières de New York! Après avoir emménagé chez Valen avec Shay, je pensais pouvoir enfin me reposer, passer du temps nue avec mon géant au milieu de cette ville effervescente. Mais quand quelqu'un trouve un corps décharné dans le restaurant de Valen, je comprends que répit n’est pas encore d’actualité. Et la situation ne fait que s’empirer ! D'autres corps sont découverts, et un enquêteur du Conseil Gris commence à fouiller l'Hôtel Twilight ainsi que le restaurant de Valen. Les preuves pointent vers mon géant.

Découvrir mon mari au lit avec une autre femme, ce n’est pas comme ça que j’avais prévu de commencer ma journée. Pas plus que de me retrouver à la rue la minute d’après. Et sans le sou. Alors, quand je reçois une offre d’emploi de la part de l’Hôtel Twilight (un hôtel paranormal en plein Manhattan qui fait à la fois office de résidence et de sanctuaire), j’accepte sans hésiter.

Dans ma vie, quand les choses dégénèrent, elles ne le font pas à moitié. Comme si être la proie d’un démon supérieur ou être menacée de mort par un archange dément n’était pas déjà assez grave, voilà que je me retrouve avec une mission pour une reine des fées que je déteste. Pourquoi ? Parce qu’une personne chère à mon cœur risque de tout perdre si je ne trouve pas un sacré paquet de fric au plus vite. Mais sans autre boulot en perspective, je suis coincée. Alors, quand la reine des fées de la cour des Ombres m’offre une mission, je l’accepte.

Ce n’était sûrement pas... atterrir en prison, ce que j'avais envisagé pour passer le reste de la nuit ! Non ! J'avais imaginé un « mambo » horizontal avec un certain géant ultra-chaud. Au lieu de cela, je me retrouve coincée dans une cellule de moins de dix mètres sur dix, affamée et avec une sérieuse envie de faire pipi toutes les heures. Avec, pour seuls compagnons, les murs de pierre froids et d’occasionnels cafards. Je suis piégée dans les entrailles du bâtiment du Conseil de Gray ! Et je ne sais pas si j'en sortirai un jour !
