About this listen

From number-one New York Times best seller Vi Keeland, comes a new, sexy stand-alone novel.

Terminated for inappropriate behavior.
I couldn’t believe the letter in my hands.
Nine years. Nine damn years I’d worked my butt off for one of the largest companies in America, and I was fired with a form letter when I returned home from a week in Aruba.
All because of a video taken when I was on vacation with my friends - a private video made on my private time. Or so I thought....
Pissed off, I cracked open a bottle of wine and wrote my own letter to the gazillionaire CEO telling him what I thought of his company and its practices.
I didn’t think he’d actually respond.
I certainly never thought I’d suddenly become pen pals with the rich jerk.
Eventually, he realized I’d been wronged and made sure I got my job back.
Only…it wasn’t the only thing Grant Lexington wanted to do for me.
But there was no way I was getting involved with my boss’s boss’s boss. Even if he was ridiculously gorgeous, confident, and charming.
It would be completely wrong, inappropriate even.
Sort of like the video that got me into trouble to begin with.
Two wrongs don’t make a right.
But sometimes it’s twice as fun.

Look, I loved this books, and have very few triggers. But when a blurb leans towards fun office romance, then contains serious topics like mental health issues and the death of a child, particularly an infant killed by its parent, there needs to be a trigger warning.

Now that that's out if the way, this was a really great story. I loved the set-up for their relationship, and the journey they had getting to their HEA. I am curious if the roommate has her own book, just something about the way she was written, made it feel like she was more important than just a side character.

Triggers in Book! *Spoilers in review*

This is very enjoyable, but it is pretty much the same story as "We Shouldn't", which strangely enough was the last book I read. Not sure why Keeland wouldn't have mixed things up a bit more.

That being said, this delves deeper into the characters' pasts and how that affects their present life and relationships. Has a dark storyline dealing with trauma and grief which adds an interesting element to the story.

VERY similar to Vi K.'s book, "We Shouldn't"

It's basically the same story as 50 shades. Not bad but felt like copy and paste.

Good book but....

It was very sad though but it can teach a lot about forgiveness a little sexy too!!!!

Great book

SO GOOD.
Boy, did I love this book.

This is where I would insert the Kobe Bryant ‘more’ meme.
That is what this story was.
That is what I wanted when it came to an end because obviously 38 chapters just wasn’t enough to leave my greedy soul sated.
More.

From the blurb, you’d think it was your usual funny, sexy, and entertaining office romance...it actually was all those things and MORE.
There was some unexpected depth to this story I was not expecting but omg did I hungrily devour it.

Grant, you have my WHOLE heart no questions asked.

Vi Keeland brought me to tears on multiple occasions and made my heart ACHE.
But, I don’t regret a single emotion because this story was so worth it.

Sebastian York and Andi Arndt were perfection as always.

So Much More

Loved it

This was such a fun way to see two people meet and their personalities are great! A little bit of sass can definitely go a long way with these two. There is also so major emotions going on with a twist that you might see coming but will break your heart reguardless. Such a great book with just as great narration.

She had me with her drunken email. He captured me when his reply to said email was signed "Richie Rich." Oy, the snarky banter and sarcasm was fabulous. This author and these narrators simply cannot fail to produce a winner, and once again they've shown that with this great rom-com classic. It's got everything a rom-com fan looks for in a beautifully wrapped package.

The characters are wonderfully done with a dynamic blend of comedy, passion, and painful histories. In fact, mental health plays a unique part in the angsty portions of this beautiful story--some of which may be difficult for some readers. This, however, is where the author shows one of the reasons she's such a success. She does a wonderful job of balancing the angst and the comedy to keep this amazing story going without getting too weighty and bogged down. Ultimately, this story is two people who turn their hot mess lives into beautiful heat together.

I liked it, entertaining. I also liked the characters. The pace was good and situations interesting.

Good listen.

Narrators were excellent. The book started great with a lot of possibilities but the book never went anywhere. Still a good listen.

Expected a bit more
