Wow i didn't think i was going to enjoy this book as much as i did, the world is an interesting one and i hope it gets expanded on future books, now the story is a little dark but it makes sense it is so as the book goes on, the only thing i didn't like was how the MC was kinda of a creep at the beginning with the elven girl but at the end she ended up being one of my favorites with how she begins to explore herself and what she wanted and when the opportunity arose she took it. also an amazing narration and can't wait to listen to the next one!

great story, loved the performance of the actors. the actors had many voices and was able to keep them straight. I am in love with Alyssa Poon's voice. the story was great and fun. a talented thief that makes his way up in the world.

One thing I have learned is to give a book a fair chance and to recognize when it's the reader's fault and not the book itself. I had just come off a 4 book binge when I first started this book and was not impressed by it. I had to listen to a different book first then come back to this one. What a difference! I really enjoyed this book. I was able to get past myself and really dig into it. The writing style was a little than others in the genre but good and the story grabbed me. I'm starting book 2 immediately and will give a more in depth review when I finish that one.

The main character is in a thieves' guild. He's working his way up the ranks, and gets a couple women along the way - not as many as you might think.
Although elves are in this universe, I like the creative touch of developing some new races, and having new names for the races - although it does make it a little hard to keep track of what is meant by certain terms.
Mixed feelings about the idea that rich elven nobles would sell some of their daughters into sexual slavery.
Some of the content is pretty brutal - these are stories of heists and crime rings, so it isn't for the faint of heart.

I had no idea what to expect going into this audiobook. I was given a code to review this and I couldn’t stop listening! The male narrator easily pulled me in. Some of the story’s plots got a little confusing but I usually find what I kissed on the 2nd listen. I anxiously await the next book and would definitely buy it when it does. You won’t like this if you like newb MCs who like to flounder and make horrible decisions, though I will admit that the MC is a little callous to what he caused. IMO I think you may only regret how short it is.

Really well written and evolving story, with potential for character development. The narrators and narration was excellent!

I am looking forward to book two and I would definitely recommend giving this book a listen.

I was wondering how good the book would be with what seems like a generic description, but the story is surprisingly enjoyable. smart characters act smart and passionate characters act how you would expect. Everything seemed to make sense once you understood the world setting which is not unusual.

The narrators were good and there are no audio errors.

10/10 it's a nice introduction in complexity for the genre.

I first came across this author thanks to his Makalang series of which he has seven books out the first four are also available as audio. I greatly enjoyed that series. now waiting for the last book of that series to be written and released I went in search of what other books this author has written. That brings us to Master of Thieves. I think the author did a fantastic job with this story as well. As of the time of this review the first book is only available in audio but the second book is out in the ebook format. I loved the story and well I can't wait for the second book to get the audio treatment as the narrators in my opinion also did an amazing job, I'm afraid I won't be able to wait that long. As soon as I'm done writing this review, I'll be reading the second book. the takeaway is that I think even if you're not familiar with this author it'd be well worth your time and your dime to give this story a chance.
