About this listen

Audie Award Finalist, Erotica, 2014

For fans of Fifty Shades of Gray and Bared to You comes an erotic, emotionally charged romance between a powerful man who’s never heard "no" and a fiery woman who says "yes" on her own terms.

He was the one man I couldn’t avoid. And the one man I couldn’t resist.

Damien Stark could have his way with any woman. He was sexy, confident, and commanding: Anything he wanted, he got. And what he wanted was me.

Our attraction was unmistakable, almost beyond control, but as much as I ached to be his, I feared the pressures of his demands. Submitting to Damien meant I had to bare the darkest truth about my past - and risk breaking us apart.

But Damien was haunted, too. And as our passion came to obsess us both, his secrets threatened to destroy him - and us - forever.

Release Me is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

Great... I loved it!

What made the experience of listening to Release Me the most enjoyable?

I love listening to books where the narrators voice is not annoying... This book is steamy and has a plot with mystery and suspense... and of course some erotic romance.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Release Me?

The ending was a cliffhanger and I am disappointed that I have to wait until July to hear more.

Which character – as performed by Sofia Willingham – was your favorite?

Damian...I hope that is how you should spell his name. He is a mystery and I can't wait to figure him out in the remaining books

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it kept me up all night, I couldn't turn off my brain and I wanted to know more.

Any additional comments?

I like books with raw primal hunger... Listening to books like 50 Shades of Grey, Bared to You, Reflected in You, etc invokes a curiousity in me to step outside my comfort zone... Try a new wine, a new restaurant, a different spa service-- Enjoy life more freely!

This Was Good But Found Myself Drifting At Times

What made the experience of listening to Release Me (The Stark Trilogy) the most enjoyable?

This is compared to 50 Shades Trilogy (which I've not read) and Bared to You - which I really liked. Maybe I'm burned out on the premise of Billionare and broken pasts or maybe it is a lazy time of year (summer vacation) but I did find my thoughts wandering at times.

The above being said - I cannot wait to find out what the rest of the trilogy holds!

What about Sofia Willingham’s performance did you like?

She is good, believable and unique.

Any additional comments?

I AM intrigued, enjoyed and HAVE downloaded the rest of the trilogy.

If you like erotica with a bit of bondage - billionaire, girl and how they work through their issues; I think you'll like this. It is similar to Beautiful B*stard, Bared to You/Crossfire Series, Breathless, etc.

If you are ready for a different/new topic you might want to try The Brown Family (Lauren Dane), Blacktop Cowboys (Lorelei James) or Sinners on Tour (Olivia Cunning)...

This is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

Good one to start off with

For my first time, this was really interesting. I'm intrigued enough to purchase the other books in this trilogy.

J Kenner does another winner, be open minded, tho.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would if I knew the person well enough and wouldn't be judgmental about the books I read.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Release Me (The Stark Trilogy)?

Not one specific.

Which scene was your favorite?

All had merit.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed a lot, was a tad shocked, but can see the different ways of people.

Any additional comments?

Nope.

In love with the series

I'm hooked on this series. It's sweet and romantic but hot and steamy too. The narrator is good except she is a little too breathy and sounds over dramatic sometimes when it's not necessary. For the most part though she does a good job.

Everything you’re looking for and nothing you’re not

Get this fabulous book and enjoy the hell out of it! I did. The characters are familiar and complex, the erotic bits are juicy and sexy, the story gives the highs and lows you expect from any best seller in the genre, but it does so without insulting its readers. Love it!

Familiar

This book was very similar to the Crossfire series. I'm not sure which came first.

Story ok but...

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It made my long commute to work a little less boring

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I did not like the narrator. Her voice is horrible and her mouth sounded dry.

Would you be willing to try another one of Sofia Willingham’s performances?

Her voice is horrible and her mouth sounded dry.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Nope
