About this listen

This season, on the most unfiltered reality show in the universe, the one to watch will be human …Succubi treat all other species as livestock. Gene seeds from every corner of the universe are bought and sold for sustenance, for labor … for fun. Yet, for all their advantages over natural breeding programs, gene seeds are not without risk. Occasionally, such seeds retain episodic memory of a past life. These seeds – called ghosts – are routinely destroyed when discovered. Succubi, however, are ruled by their desires. Wherever there’s potential for profit, exceptions get made.

Division Four specializes in generating livestock to serve as competitors in the popular reality game show: Sex, Death, and Money. After a dry spell, desperate to show results, the division director cut corners and red tape to acquire a gene seed from a previously unknown species.

She was promised a specimen of rare ability.

She has no idea …This book is violent and does not fade to black. It features dystopian themes, harem, aliens, and conduct unbecoming a gentleman. You have been warned.

fucking amazing character and world development!

it should be expected by Cebelius at this point but their ability to make a fascinating world with interesting characters blows my mind. If it was just that I'd call them an amazing author what makes them the best and the reason I have bought every single audible they've put out ( outside of the amazing VAs) is the ability to craft such interesting morally complex characters in a fitting complex dystopian world. Rarely is there a simple unredeemable villain, even if they seem that way often they manage to get you to love them and understand a bit of their thought process. In the case of the truly heinous knes is one Cebelius still manages to give you mixed feeling about them, leaving me curious at the thought process of even even the most heinous looking villains ( enter mountain king here).

about this story without giving too much away. story manages to convey a cold blooded and cold hearted killer of a protagonist an inversion of the start of many of the other protagonists by Cebelius. He is not simply someone who is able to kill but someone seeming to lack empathy, not without emotion mind you but an utter lack of attatchment to life and the world he finds himself in. someone who is only still persisting due to grit and spite. Without cheapening that introduction we are still slowly coaxed into caring more about him and his hellish captors while having them stay true to their characters. there is no sudden talk no jutsu that gives him a sudden change of heart but their is a slow adaptation to the world he finds himself in, learning not only to play the game but also revealing parts of himself that lie beneath the surface.

I often find myself begging for Cebelius to go back to a particular series up until they release a new one and throwing my previous desire out a 6th story window. ( I'd love another T.A.P. or mountain King book, but Would you love a monster girl and this new series is killing it!) please keep up the amazing work Cebelius, I am a big fan.

Very good spice and setting

The premise is kinda cliche-ish but also very unique and creative. I don’t actually like the MC all that much, but seeing him grow the little he did gives me hope for future installments! I usually like these kind of books to fill a void of intimacy and companionship; so a plot where sex is transactional would normally be a red flag for me. However the MC seems to dislike that fact too and does everything he can to not cheapen sex and slowly is creating a core “family” to keep by him and resist the tribulations of the premise.
All in all, wished the MC was more relatable, but understand why it fits the plot. Will be looking for the next “season”!

reality death show, now with more sexiness

I know the old adage of "you got to break a few eggs to make an omlette." in the case of Taz he's not just breaking eggs, but adding a kill count to his justified murder spree. This audiobook is not only thought provoking, but well written with an interesting sci-fi plot. I'm always happy to see an author branch out into new territory. so if you like ninja warrior mixed with an even more unhinged Rambo, then what are you waiting for. give this a listen.

Outstanding

Cebelius has once again proven to be a master world crafter. I was hooked from chapter one and listened to the whole book on one sitting. I will listen to any book Cebelius gets onto audible.

Good first book

I am a huge fan of this author and his extremely unique MC’s. This guy was mean nasty clueless and had zero redeeming qualities. But in a world where he is livestock , I guess it works. Narration was awesome

The Title Literally Says It All.

And it's all rapped around a gritty plot, with disturbingly enjoyable (or enjoyably disturbing) characters. The dual-narrators were perfect for this series.

Unique MC

Definitely not your typical MC. Guy has a mean streak and has no problem showing it. Very much worth the credit and I'll be watching for the next one.
