About this listen

Sinfully sexy rock stars are the cornerstone of New York Times best-selling author, S.L. Scott's prolific career. Dive into Hard to Resist, a series of stand-alone Rock Star Romances and then read the new spin-off series, The Crow Brothers.

He was everything she never wanted. Yet, she couldn't stop thinking about him.

Soulful, amber eyes. A sex, drugs, and rock n'roll reputation. A body that beckoned for sin.

Three years ago, Rochelle Floros was living her dream come true... then lost it all. On the worst day of her life, the last person she expected to be there for her was a rock star and tabloid favorite. Now, she's trying to rebuild her life after the tragedy that destroyed her fairy tale. Slowly, she found herself captivated by the bad boy drummer she had known for years.

Rochelle was caught between the grief that shrouded her heart and the charismatic man that made it race. What she didn't know is if he was being sincere or toying with her heart.

The Redemption is about finding the pulse of your soul in the most unlikely places and giving love a chance to grow.

Can what she wants really be what she needs? With his rhythm and her passion, can they make music together? Or will their harmony be lost forever?

Ahhh. the angst!

This story could have done with a bit less on-again-off-again but I do love series that explore a single character while bringing in “old friends” too. Good series, good characters. good narration. And I Arndt is one of the few female narrators who can bring in the male character seamlessly. She does an outstanding job of this!

Beautiful, messy, painful, rock star romance!

This is a beautiful, messy, painful, rock star romance that will tear you up with missed chances! I did get frustrated with angst and characters who don't cooperate with love at all. Based in tragedy, as they navigate this new love that is a long time coming life keeps getting in the way. The constant roller coaster was difficult, but given the history and the obstacles it was not forced or manufactured angst. There are a lot of reasons for them not to be together. Finding their way through the muck and mire is very well written and beautifully performed by Andi and Jacob. This story will break your heart and make you believe in redemption!

Is Dex a sucker for punishment?

OMG, she wants him, she doesn't want him, she gets jealous if he looks at another woman, she wants him again, oh but wait then she decides he isn't good enough, then he is, then she can't compete with the women he has been with in the past. She misses him in her life, but then she won't let him in. On and on and on it goes.

He is a rockstar, she was in a relationship with a rockstar who died, but she can't compete.

Rochelle is the most annoying type of character in a book. I hate her. I don't even know if I can finish the book. Why Dex keeps trying to prove to her that he wants her is beyond me. They are both pathetic in that respect. I find women like Rochelle the worse.

The narration is superb, of course it is. However, not even Andi Arndt and Jacob Morgan can save this one for me.

Worth credit, absolutely not. I should have waited to see if it went onto Audible Escape.

Little Jacob Morgan 😩

This has to be the worst book of this series… like everyone is saying… THERE’S WAY TOO MUCH BACK N FORTH…. I read the reviews b/4 purchasing it, but took a chance cause JACOB MORGAN but he only read a few chapters… this book could have been so much better if the author cut 1/2 of the conflict…

2.5 STARS

The Redemption is about Rochelle & Dex. Dex is the drummer of the band, The Resistance. Rochelle was engaged to be married to band member, Cory and is the mother of their two children when tragedy strikes the band and Cory dies. Throughout the book Dex struggles with his attraction and feelings for Rochelle. It is a forbidden relationship in his mind. This part of the story I loved and was looking forward to in the previous book in the series. What I didn’t like was the drama and back and forth. Neither of these characters would talk to each other about it what is going on in their heads and the inner dialogue grated on my nerves. The whiplash between the characters was too much. On one moment and off the next. Typically I enjoy a storyline with slow build and angst but this was too much. It pains me to write a negative review for this author as she is one of my favourites. I do look forward to Kaz and Lara’s story next!
