Story
Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. As Jin, I’m a man of the earth. A wielder of shovels and lord of rice and wheat. And sure, I also had to die and get pulled into another universe to end up here. But guess what? I’m starting to think it was worth it. I’ve somehow managed to get away from it all.

Story
I didn't want to be worshiped like some deity—an instant replacement for the asuras. For so long, these people looked up to the asuras as gods, but the asuras kept trying to kill them. Arthur Leywin has finally returned to the continent of Dicathen, but his home is still firmly in the hands of the enemy. His display of unprecedented power brings hope to his allies and fear to his enemies. It also deeply embroils him in a conflict between the godlike asuras, with Agrona Vritra on one side and Kezess Indrath on the other.

Same reason as everyone else

I love this series, but the new narration threw me off. It might’ve been different had the whole series been narrated this way. Unfortunately, it was done this late in the game. It throws off the vibe for anyone. I powered through it, thankfully. But, there are some other series that have tried this and I completely stopped listening to them. It might have been smoother, had she only narrated the female characters and their point of view. Not trade off full chapters. That is what threw it off for me personally.
Elizabeth is a skilled narrator in her own right. She does an awesome job, and I would definitely listen to a book that she has strictly narrated herself. I only have the issue with the change up is all.
The book though, was awesome! I really enjoyed the growth and the support character growth as well. Another awesome job. I can’t wait for the next book!

Story
Reidon Ward's first semester at the Galens Institute hasn't been without reward. In just over half a year he's gone from the weakest cadet at school to one of the strongest in his class, and there's no one left who would argue that his Device, Shido, isn't the most terrifying CAD they've ever laid eyes on. Still, Rei knows that his climb has barely begun, like he knows that the true fight is only just starting. After all… The Sectionals tournament has arrived. Rei, along with Aria, Viv, Catcher, and a couple unexpected squadmates, are about to face the first real battle of their careers.

I enjoyed it

I believe the first book was better overall. This book, unfortunately, didn’t progress as the first had. It did have its moments however. I do understand that book series need build up for the following book, but this lacked something. Not sure if it was enough build up or if the build up just didn’t happen fast enough. I feel as though 3 years of waiting should have given us a bit more. I looked forward to this book quite a bit. More so than any other series I have been reading/listening to. The atmosphere/universe of this book is very enjoyable. The concept, I believe, is what I enjoy most about it. Let’s just say, I was able to listen to the first book about 10 times. I don’t know if I could do the same for this one. Not unless the next one is something major. Otherwise, it will feel a bit wasted.
For Luke Daniels, unfortunately, you did change the characters a touch. I wouldn’t say as drastic as the other reviews might make it out to be, but you definitely changed the pronunciation of several words. Like, the A ranked Character no one like due to him craving the spotlight. I won’t try to spell his name. I can’t. Starts with an S. Everyone knows who I’m talking about, anywho. Some characters sounded different at the start, but you eventually fell back into the original sound for most people.
I’m hoping the next book is drastically better overall. For both story and narration. And, I hope it doesn’t take another 3 years. Preferably just a year or year and a half. That would be great.

Story
Well, this year, after the Spring Planting season, I’m really gonna relax and put down roots. It’s the slow life for me. Sure, the talking animals and cultivators coming to live with me are a bit weird, but this year everything is gonna be basically normal. There definitely won’t be any Heavenly Tribulations, ancient formations, or cultivator issues to deal with . . .

Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

This was my first cultivation series. I typically avoid these style books because the MC is always a genius that naturally master everything they do without hard work or struggle. This series is refreshing in that aspect.
