About this listen

"I'm not your savior."

I didn't want to be worshiped like some deity—an instant replacement for the asuras. For so long, these people looked up to the asuras as gods, but the asuras kept trying to kill them.

Arthur Leywin has finally returned to the continent of Dicathen, but his home is still firmly in the hands of the enemy. His display of unprecedented power brings hope to his allies and fear to his enemies. It also deeply embroils him in a conflict between the godlike asuras, with Agrona Vritra on one side and Kezess Indrath on the other.

With the crimes of his past life haunting him in the form of the Legacy, Arthur can no longer afford to hone only his strength. He must also empower those closest to him or risk losing them all.

The worst way to use two voice actors

I’m a fan of this series and have turned to reading it on tapas in between audiobooks so I’ve read this book before. I enjoy the story but the voice acting for this audiobook is…jarring. Hearing the same characters voiced completely differently from one chapter to another was extremely unsettling. It completely breaks the immersion of the story. Not to mention putting anyone next to Travis just feels unfair to them, they just can’t compare.

AWESOME

Great book, the only thing which would make this better if the author Travis narrated all the male voices, while Elizabeth as the female. Just a little weird hearing Author with a different voice.

Regarding The 2 Narrators

The book was great. As someone who hates when a narrator is changed mid series… this was that bad. I personally put it at 1.5 speed when Emily was narrating. I preferred the voices that way, and I got back to Travis quicker.

Keep it to only Travis

Having built up a mental image throughout 9 books of Arthur etc. The sudden change (addition) of narrator, forcing me to listening to someone else performing the characters every 2nd chapter, was a ridiculous call! It makes no sense and ruins the experience. This day and ages WOKEness, DAMN! I was looking so much forward to this one, but its now clear to me that all I'm getting is the same thing, as when the kids wake up in the night while, you know, mom and dad... It's just not as good, when there's no climax.

Narrator issues

changing narrator for book 10 is a bad idea. they also did it the first possible way, divided at chapters not at characters. general feedback from community seems to be the same... hopefully they can redo it

Don’t like Elizabeth Evan’s

Elizabeth Evan’s in this was honestly annoying. Her male voices are so cringey, and she has such a breathy voice, every single time she finishes talking it sounds like she’s out of breath and it gives every character this annoying huffing voice everytime they say something. Story is good, and Travis Baldree is good as always. But, Elizabeth Evan’s definitely hurts this particular book. Really dislike her narration.

Phenomenal

First off, the addition of a second voice actor was well done and def adds to the story. I’m a huge fan of Travis Baldree and was skeptical about it in the beginning but it worked out very well.

The story was also amazing. More growth to both the characters and the storyline. And the be honest, the ending hit me deep in the Feels.

CANT wait for the next book

Please fix the narration

If your a fan of the other books its more of the same. For me, that's great. Review of the story done...

However, I normally don't write reviews unless its an amazing story or something leaves a foul taste in my mouth. Unfortunately someone got the idea of adding a second narrator. That in and of itself isn't my problem. The problem is they don't have the male narrator read for the male characters and the female read the female characters. They have each narrator read an entire chapter themselves. Since both narrators have very different styles this is jarring.

If the next story is read in the same way I'm probably not going to purchase anymore books from this series. I want to support TurtleMe but its not worth paying to listening to it like this.

Excellent and thrilling

Amazingly fantastic like the rest of the series. But it would’ve been better if the book was narrated by one person only, Travis.
