Publisher's summary

Do you feel immobilized by fear or anxiety? Do you have the tendency to self-sabotage? Have you lost your sense of purpose and the motivation to reach your goals?

Does the phrase "I'll do it tomorrow" seem hauntingly familiar? If you answered yes to any of these questions, 7 Quick and Easy Ways to Stop Procrastinating is right up your alley.

We've all been there. When work and life becomes unavoidably chaotic, when the pressures and the demands of ordinary tasks seem like too much, we all have the tendency to put things off.

For some, procrastination can be a welcome break from the rigors of everyday demands. For others, it can become a crippling set of practices that destroy families, careers, and lives. I'm very familiar with the patterns. In high school and college, the structure and routine of my studies helped dictate that the demands of tomorrow would be met today. In graduate school, however, the sudden freedom from deadlines and the absence of constraints placed upon my daily movement pushed me toward greater and greater procrastination.

I couldn't start simple presentations, papers, or research projects until hours before they were due. The rest of my time was spent browsing the Internet for new top-10 lists and photo galleries. My inability to structure the demands of my profession are the single biggest reason why I crashed and burned.

I needed help, but even the act of looking for solutions to my procrastination problem was an excuse to procrastinate. Like a dog chasing his tail.

Luckily, you won't have to look far in the future, because there is a simpler alternative. 7 Quick and Easy Ways to Stop Procrastinating guides you through the problem of procrastination while offering astonishingly simple solutions tailor-made for people like myself.

This guide first identifies the root sources of procrastination and a description of the four types of procrastinators.

Content great delivery horrible

The content of this book is great, BUT the narrator talks way too fast and makes it sound like an infomercial, seriously I couldn't finish the book. I might try it again on a slower speed. Such a shame as the content is great, it needs to be re-narrated in a more helpful, conversational voice

Simple Advice, Narration is Much Too Fast

I like "self development" books that are easy to digest, include humor or generally, don't get overly bogged down in the scientific so that they become boring or overdone. This audiobook is short and to the point, however, I think it would have benefited greatly by the narrator slowing down the pace of his reading. That comment is pretty ironic since the message of the book is to get going, but the narration is so fast that I ended up listening to it at .75 speed. The slower speed warps the voice performance to a degree, but I felt that I could digest the content much better when it didn't feel like the pace was a step away from Alvin and the Chipmunks. I found the content helpful and motivating but I gave fewer Overall stars because the narration's pace was annoying.

Perfect length and pace for the topic.

Most people who tackle this subject take the "Just do it" approach...which let's face it, doesn't do it!!

If it were that simple, we would have all hopped to it a LONG time ago!

This book helps you understand your most primal wiring...and therefore WHY you procrastinate in the first place. Then it tells you exactly how you can break through the resistance and can begin replacing self-sabotaging behaviors with habits that support you and your goals. Sounds a little dull, but I can assure you, it's not! It's actually really fascinating. 😎

Best of all, it's SIMPLE...a short listen that is very manageable. And the brisk pace of the narration means there is literally never a dull moment.

Because let's face it, if a procrastinator gets bored with a book like this, they're never gonna finish it. Ha! 😂

I did this one in one day...instead of my work, ironically. 😊

Straight to the point no BS.

i'm a fast listener I didn't mind the speed, BUT I did turn it down to 0.7 listening speed, so I could take notes.

speed listening isn't my forte

Fwiw, this is my first time reviewing an audible book.

I read the reviews here and the topic interests me and thought that I should give it a go.

Apparently, I need to listen to it more than once to get the information as given in this audio book. Why? Because the narrator sped through the book. By the end, I knew I had to listen to it again...and again... until I'm sure I understood every single point. Had the narrator somewhat slowed down the reading speed, I think it would be more helpful. That said, I could be just a slow listener.

Content wise, I think it contains pretty good ideas (well, at least those that I've gleamed after listening to it once).
