About this listen

In Thorne Manor there is one locked door. Behind it lies a portal to the 21st century, and nothing is going to stop Miranda Hastings from stepping through. After all, she is a Victorian writer of risqué pirate adventures—traveling to the future would be the greatest adventure of them all.

When Miranda goes through, though, she lands in Georgian England...and in the path of Nicolas Dupuis, a privateer accused of piracy. Sheltered by locals, Nico is repaying their kindness by being their “pirate Robin Hood”, stealing from a corrupt lord and fencing smuggled goods on the village’s behalf.

Miranda embraces Nico’s cause, only to discover there’s more to it than he realizes. Miranda has the second sight, and there are ghosts at play here. The recently deceased former lord is desperate to stop his son from destroying his beloved village. Then there’s the ghost of Nico’s cabin boy, whom he thought safe in a neighboring city. Miranda and Nico must solve the mystery of the boy’s death while keeping one step ahead of the hangman.

It may not be the escapade Miranda imagined, but it is about to be the adventure of a lifetime.

I am a HUGE Kelley Armstrong fan, and loved the first 2 books in this series, but this one wasn’t my favorite. I didn’t fall in love with the characters like I normally do, and the story was a bit repetitive for me. Not bad, I finished it, but not a top 10 of her books for me.

Not bad

Now to just wait hopefully for another. I’ve enjoyed all three of these. Portia’s turn next?

My only complaint with the series is that I did not discover it later on when there were more books these books are so wonderful I could stay lost in them for months . after this book I am excited for Miranda's future adventures I'm anxious for porcha to find her way through the stitch. I just need more

amazingly captivating

I love the heroins are so vaguely described that you can easily imagine yourself as them. The accents are the best I've heard.

I love her Books

It was ok, some boring chapters and some drawn out chapters. Nicos voice was irritating.

Just ok

I read a lot of the reviews that said they didn’t like the main male characters French accent. However, I looked past that, although the accent was not desirable, I pretended it was not a French accent and the characters were full of life. This book was a lot of fun, and I found myself enjoying the characters very much, give this book a read, and you will not be disappointed

Thoroughly enjoyable

I really liked all of the other books in this series. I’m sure it’s probably a good storyline but the French accent was too distractingly cringe I couldn’t get through it. I tried several times.

The French accent…

Truly picturesque details in the descriptions of the ships. Which reminded me of my first on -screen heart ❤️ throb. Errol Flynn as a pirate🤪. Now in my 70’s it is a joy to hear a very modern TT version of Pirates and sailing Ships.

⚔️ Swords and Scoundrels
