Publisher's summary

Fake relationships are the life hack every girl needs.

Prom got you down? Fake boyfriend. Your frenemy is getting married? Fake wedding date. Need to beat your awful half-sister at inheriting the family estate? Totally nabbing a fake fiancé!

When your wedding-crazy, septuagenarian grandmother arranges a contest to see which of her granddaughters marries first, you have to bring out the big guns. And my billionaire boss Blade’s guns are banging!

Billionaire, high-powered CEO, more money than personality, Blade Svensson is all business. He needs to win a contract, and I need a house. He and I both know that this is a logical, rational response to one of life’s many curveballs. There’s an expiration date on our fake relationship. There are also rules to make sure we both come out unscathed.

No lying, no sex (Yes Avery, it doesn’t matter that he sleeps half-naked, no sex!) and absolutely no falling in love!

This stand-alone, full-length romantic comedy has no cliff-hangers but does have a swoon-worthy HEA! It features plenty of steam, the largest selection of hot brothers to ever grace an audiobook, and a heroine who is totally, absolutely not breaking the rules except that one time where she’s not sure how her panties came off!

Blade and Avery's story

This is my first Alina Jacob's book. It was sweet, funny, and very enjoyable. The narration was by Savannah Peachwood and Connor Crais -- one of my favorite duos. The voice acting was great. Loved how Savannah and Connor brought Blade and Avery (plus the dozens of secondary characters) to life. Loved Chesario and the Bonus Chapters, too.

A boss, assistant, bunnies, and a fake engagement!

I loved this story. It was very entertaining and had lots of feels. There were times that I wanted to smack some of the characters, but I also did a lot of laughing. The characters were interesting and well developed as well as relatable (most of them!). I loved her best friends and how supportive they were of her.

Avery is a pro when it comes to fake relationships. Or so she thinks. She has arranged fake relationships for several events over the years from Prom to a wedding date. When Avery's grandmother decides that she wants to see her granddaughters married and whichever one gets married first gets the family estate, she decides she needs a fake fiancé. Who could be better than her billionaire boss Blade?

Blade Svensson is all business and doesn't do relationships even fake ones. He is a billionaire and a CEO and he needs to win a contract with a company that is all about family values. Blade is surprised when Avery approaches him about being her fake husband. But when he considers his brothers and the contract he decides that they can help each other.

There are so many great things about this story that I can't list them all here. The way everyone kept interfering irked me. I totally hate her family, except for her grandmother and I hope that they all get their comeuppance in a later book! I loved that Blade and Avery were in a very real relationship long before they realized it. Blade hanging out with Cesario and sending messages to Avery was too funny. I liked the way the story ended, but I do wish there was an epilogue further out. This is a must-read book!

Listening to this audiobook was very enjoyable. The male narrator was new to me but I really liked listening to him and I look forward to hearing more from him. The female narrator was familiar to me and did a great job as usual. I recommend listening to this audiobook as well.

My favorite so far

I really enjoyed the main characters and her two best friends. Good peeps for sure. The readers both had delightful voices.

fake relationships are my favorite

Alina Jacobs writes a lot of romance books but my favorite of hers are the fake romances. Jacobs embraces the silly situations of the trope and somehow always makes the story unique.

The narrators did a wonderful job!

a great addition to the series

Alina Jacobs definitely puts the comedy in romantic comedy. Her books are always filled with humor and hilarious moments in addition to the sweet romance between the characters. In this case it's Avery and Blade's story.

Watching Avery and Blade move from relationship of convenience to attraction to falling for each other was so much fun. Though, as I mentioned, there are hilarious moments, there are a number of sweet and emotional ones too. It was easy to like these characters, and they quickly became my favorite couple in the series.

I am already looking forward to reading more from this author, especially in her Svensson Brothers series!

Just like not love

The story has some funny parts but I felt like I was on a never ending train of whining that I couldn't get off of. I also wish the FMC would've stood up for herself towards her family sooner, she really had nothing to lose and with all the different characters in the story one of them should've been a therapist to help a girl out. Not sure if I would use credits for the other stories. Enjoyed both of the narrators!

I didn’t love it but still fun

My least favorite so far in the series. Avery wasn’t my favorite. Plenty of fun with the other brothers though. I have noticed words in the other books that I don’t agree with the pronunciation but this one was great until the very end when it hit me that the rabbit’s name is probably chorizo - the Spanish meat. Oh well, best female narrator so far.
