Publisher's summary

This publisher's pack contains Society (book three) and Hope (book four) of the After It Happened series.

Society, book three:

Set in the UK in the immediate aftermath of a mysterious illness which swept the country and left millions dead, the series follows the trials facing a reluctant hero, Dan, and the group he forms around him. They must battle the elements, find sufficient supplies and equipment to survive, and protect themselves against the most destructive force on the planet: other people.

The survivors have prospered, but their home is an enticing prospect for others to take. Besieged, they must respond with a savagery to dissuade further attempts.

Is this the end of society?

Hope, book four:

In the aftermath of the shocking revelations about the propagation of the human race, Dan latches on to a desperate chance to change the future which many have accepted. The group splits and Dan leads his closest allies on an uncertain journey to find a solution. They find themselves battling against the elements, against new foes, and above all, against time.

They must succeed.

They must have hope.

Loved the Series!

One of my favorite postapocalypse series. Ranks with my two favorite series: Justin Cronin's The Passage series and R. C. Bray's Surrender the Sun series. Would give all the books a 5* rating!

Tied for first... so far.

One of the best audio book series I have listend too so far. I love this genre and subject. I find my self pretty critical on it when reading or listening. When it gets out of hand on the action or I start to hear words like "clip" used in gunplay I start to give negative marks. The characters and story are believable imo. The premise of the doomesday trigger though not original is done well. I like the fact that it's in the U.K. as well. Two thumbs up!

The story continues

Again the characters continue on their journeys. These are not stand alone stories so you need to read/listen to them in order. I continue to want to know what happens to all of these people. I like that the author has included a teenaged girl to be a superhero too and that the women are "doing their bit". Certainly men are the main characters for the most part but there has been a real effort to include women as they would be in a crisis.

This is a great, well written series and the narrator RC Bray is the bomb. Buy the whole series and enjoy.

I love Leah's character development

I don't know how Devon C. Ford balanced the different groups of people surviving after it happened. But, I was totally involved with each group's problems and triumphs. It's like listening to a person balancing 3 or 4 plates on his fingers, whilst riding a unicycle on a chair. Sounds impossible, but Ford does it.

Entertaining

Finding books in this genre well though out are not easy to come by. Kept me interested enough to proceed further in the series. Some parts are not realistic enough to hold water but it’s fiction after all.
