About this listen

Ren

The moment I met her, I knew Frankie Zeferino was someone worth waiting for. Deadpan delivery, secret heart of gold, and a rare one-dimpled smile that makes my knees weak, Frankie has been forbidden since the day she and I became coworkers, meaning waiting has been the name of my game - besides hockey, that is.

I'm a player on the team, she's on staff, and as long as we work together, dating is off-limits. But patience has always been my virtue. Frankie won't be here forever - she's headed for bigger, better things. I just hope that when she leaves the team and I tell her how I feel, she won't want to leave me behind, too.

Frankie

I've had a problem at work since the day Ren Bergman joined the team: a six foot three hunk of happy with a sunshine smile. I'm a grumbly grump, and his ridiculously good nature drives me nuts, but even I can't entirely ignore that hot tamale of a ginger with icy eyes, the perfect playoff beard, and a body built for sin that he's annoyingly modest about.

Before I got wise, I would have tripped over myself to get a guy like Ren, but with my diagnosis, I've learned what I am to most people in my life - a problem, not a person. Now, opening my heart to anyone, no matter how sweet, is the last thing I'm prepared to do.

second book in this stand alone series, which is less of a stand alone in my opinion so far and more of a read all of them in order lol. I absolutely loved this book. I really enjoy the author's writing style, now that I've completed book 2. there isn't a bunch of unnecessary details that bogs down your brain and makes it difficult to follow a story. I feel like the characters are relatable and the characters are also distinctly different. we're learning more and more about this family and the different dynamics that each sibling has, dynamics of the parents and their marriage and the struggles that all of them are going through. Even though it is essentially an all-white cast, I still felt like the characters are very diverse. There are different diagnoses going on within the family structure, there are different handicaps that are going on within the family structure and within the significant others of the siblings of bringing in. All the characters feel touchable, and real. which I really am enjoying right now. Love love love love love love and moving on to the next one. 🏃🏾‍♀️

So innocent and so STEAMY 😍

Book 2 in the Bergman Brothers series and hands down my absolute favorite! I stumbled onto this book by chance and started with Wren and Frankie’s story—and from the very first chapter, I was hooked. I knew right away I needed to read every book in the series in order just to soak in more of this amazing family.

Wren is just… everything. Quiet, thoughtful, and secretly in love with Frankie for so long—it was swoony, endearing, and so emotionally rich. The way he cared for her without ever pushing, always being there in the background, rooting for her even when she didn’t realize he was her person all along? Perfection. And Frankie, with her fierce independence and dry humor, not even recognizing she was low-key crushing on Wren the whole time? I ate. it. up.

Chloe Liese writes with such heart, humor, and care. Yes, the books are technically standalones, but trust me—read them in order. Watching the Bergman family evolve across the series is such a beautiful experience, and you don’t want to miss a moment of it.

Also… can we PLEASE get a little Mom & Dad Bergman story? A prequel novella? A bonus epilogue? I just know their love story has layers and chaos and heart, and I need it.

Highly recommend this book and this whole series—it’s warm, inclusive, emotional, and the kind of romance that sticks with you.

Oh how I love the Bergmans🥰

I really enjoyed the story for a long time. Until they got together and then I lost interest. Then I found it somewhat cringey. So, it kind of left a meh feeling even though I enjoyed it in the begining...

The story should've ended earlier

I appreciate the same voice narrators as before and it seems they will be continuing on the next few. They really do a great a job. The real good emotions on what's happening are very heard. I have absolutely LOVED this one. I felt so much with these characters. Great intense rom-com with a character who is relatable. The harry potter refrences were extremely hilarious! I laughed way too much. Chloe's writing style is great. I am on to the next one.

Relatable characters.

First time with this author and I love this story so much! I didn’t read book one but it didn’t detract from how awesome the story was. The narration was excellent too. Highly recommend!

Light and sweet

I went from almost not finishing to really liking it to being annoyed by the angst at the end, which was so stupid. I guess I’m glad I listened, but the author should take some notes on not writing unbelievable story lines.

I don’t know

This book starts off a bit slow. It’s hard to tell if it’s going to do a good job with Autism rep or not. Holy shit it did. As a woman on the spectrum I have never related to a character more than the FMC. Thank you Chloe Liese for writing a character that makes me feel so seen. (P.S. thank you for making the steamy bits normal and not shoving the Autism in every aspect. We can enjoy perfectly normal steamy time too😉)

Omg I’ve never felt so seen by a book

You guys you have to read this-there is a twist with autism and a love story. The story builds slowly but it is so worth it. Every girl wants a partner that gets us. Ren is so wonderful and supportive. Its the little things right… he is the boss of little things. I think I understand myself more through the female character!😍🥰
