About this listen

From the Blackboard best-selling author of The Taming of Jessi Rose comes another tale of passion in the Old West. Prim and proper, Grace Atwood is escorting a group of brides from Chicago to their prospective husbands in southern Kansas. But she desperately needs a man to lead their wagon train on the long trip. Former lawman Jackson Blake seems perfect for the job. In fact, the sexy Texan is perfectly irresistible.©2000 Beverly Jenkins (P)2002 Recorded Books, LLC Fiction Historical Historical Fiction Romance Western Romance Westerns

Beverly my favorite author

I love how she writes from this period and the west! The black folks back then had so much prejudice to deal with in society, the extra struggles and challenges to survive! I love the family structure, so much dedication for family and what’s right; in spite of the unfair treatment because of Jim Crowe and what that time period presents. Thank you.

The history, the story, the love, and suspense. I couldn’t stop listening. Grace is strong and smart and admire her willingness to step out of her comfort zone. Jackson is stubborn but full of love. Definitely plan to listen again!
