About this listen

Psychology can explain every pattern you find repeating in your relationships... Are you ready to take control?

Ever wondered why your partner needs constant reassurance… or why they seem to have such demanding needs?

Maybe it's your own mind you want to get under the hood of… Why is it that you need reassurance in love, no matter how much you tell yourself you shouldn’t?

The patterns we see recurring in our relationships are formed early on, and many of us move through life without ever figuring out where they come from…

But if you’re doing this, you’re doing yourself a disservice.

Personal growth and fulfillment is only possible when you understand who you are and why you act how you do.

If you want to deepen your relationships and strengthen the connection and understanding you have within them, psychology has the answer.

This deep yet accessible dive into the psychology of your attachment style and relationships is your starting point. Inside, you’ll discover:

The ins and outs of “attachment theory”... and what it means for you

What your relationship with your mom, dad, and other early caregivers can tell you about how you relate to others

How the key models of emotional intelligence can inform your ability to regulate your emotions – and why this is key to securing fulfilling relationships

Critical research behind anxious attachment style (plus clear insight into the assessment and diagnostic process)

How personality types and attachment styles interact to cause particular behavior patterns

Why there are three personalities involved in your monogamous romantic relationship… and how knowing this can help you guard against cognitive distortions

What happens in the mind and body when you fall in love… and where attachment comes into play

A Great Guide for Breaking Free

This audiobook offered a compassionate, eye-opening look at anxious attachment and its impact on relationships. I appreciated the blend of psychology and neuroscience—it helped me understand not only my own need for reassurance but also how attachment styles shape my interactions. The explanations were clear and relatable, making complex concepts feel accessible. While I would have loved even more practical advice on handling attachment triggers, this book is a great foundation for anyone wanting to deepen their self-awareness in relationships. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to understand themselves and their partner on a deeper level.

I have a better understanding of the complexities

Anxious Attachment No More sheds light on the confusing messages between partners in these complicated relationships. Personally, I plan to RUN from the next one I get involved with, primarily because, you can't win. You either "babysit" the partner nonstop or put up with the mixed messages and confusion. There is no win-win no matter what you do in one of these relationships. It takes too much time, energy, and patience to stay in such an anxious attachment relationship. The results all end the same, failure for a long term relationship.

Good information

The book starts by explaining what attachment theory is, how it develops as early as childhood, and the role parents play in developing attachment. I find it interesting that moms and dads play different roles in developing attachment for infants, and caregivers other than parents can even replace or develop a stronger attachment due to the more time they may spend with the babies. The other thing I find interesting is the discussion of how cultural differences influence the development of attachment styles. I think this perspective is often overlooked but is crucial for understanding the nuances of one's attachment style and finding effective strategies for emotional regulation. If you want to have a systematic understanding of attachment styles and practical insights to improve the symptoms, don't miss this book!
