About this listen

Ever wish your real life was more like a video game? Be careful what you wish for!

Felix thinks he is losing his mind when he starts getting game-like quest notifications on his phone. But then, things get really strange when he realizes he is now able to level-up in real life.

After gaining the rare Beastmaster class and bonding himself to a particularly bloodthirsty housecat, Felix finds himself in a race against time to defeat his high school nemesis - who may now be a seven-foot-tall ogre with anger issues - and save the world.

When zombies roam the streets and even the squirrels are out for blood, Felix finds out that it’s not that easy when your life becomes...gamified.

I wanted to like this book

I really wanted to like it, the premise sounded and it was, the book just felt childish at times but the author did do a good job of being edgy

Refreshing

I have read and listened to a lot of LitRPG and this is one of the most original books in the genre. I love that the setting is in the real world and that they get to use their game skills in it. I felt like this coulda, woulda, shoulda been a stand alone book so it was a surprise to end with a cliffhanger. I guess it saying Book 1 on the cover was lost on me. The narration was very well done. I’m a fan of Proczko.

This book is a lot of fun.

I was pretty much hooked on this book after the first few chapters, it was absolutely a pleasure to read. The MC to the supporting cast was very well written one of my favorites was Larrys he weird and funny as heck I think we all need a friend like him. I have to say the ending actually manahed to surprise me which is sometimes hard to do. Overall this book is a must-read so do your self the favor and check it out.

A great YA LitRPG

I bought this book about 3 months ago, and it just kinda sat in my library until book tow came out and I remembered I had bought it. I wish I had listened to it sooner, and then I could have already done a re-read.

A simply fun adventure

You're getting exactly what you expect, a simple easy read that's fun for gamers of every age. It's not an advanced read but easy for a young adult gamer to get into. A little mystery leaves it open for sequels yet stood alone just fine.

AMAZING book!!!!!!!

As someone in their 30s who grew up playing RPGs, both computer and pen&paper, in general I have found the newest crop of fantasy that is being publish lackluster and boring. NOT THIS ONE.

The story never drags and it goes by much faster than you think. I drive for a living, so I'm in my car 9-10 hours a day on work days, and my normal habit is to swap between Audible, pandora and Spotify, but once Mr. Biggles got his claws into me, nah man, that wasn't happening.

There are a few reviews here that rate it as poor, but those where literally posted less than 2 hours after a 10+ hour book released, so ignore them.

if you have EVER imagined your D&D campaign jumping off the page, this book is for you!!

(Side note: the ONLY issue with the audiobook has nothing to do with the content itself and what appeared to be a file error that cause the recording to jump twice.)

Fun hybrid world!

I enjoyed the mix of real world and game world without fully leaving Earth. The characters are fun and relatable. I am excited to see where the story goes next!
