Great starter book; a healthy read for all people

Disclaimer: I got this audiobook for free, and am writing an unbiased review.

I am writing this from the viewpoint of someone who does not suffer from bipolar disorder, but I do know people who suffer from it. I do have a sensitive nature though, and can relate to having strong emotional reactions w/o the highs and lows. Ok, on to the book:

The book is a great starter book for the basics on what the disorder is, how to manage the symptoms, and how to deal with basic life struggles while having bipolar disorder. I think it is a valuable read for anyone with the diagnosis. It is even useful for those of us without the disorder - not only to understand those we love, but also because it reinforces positive and healthy mental health activities/wellbeing that is useful for all!

However, this book does not go into significant depth on the disorder, which honestly, is to be expected. IF you are interested in more than just managing symptoms through medication and lifestyle changes, and are curious about whether or not there is a CURE (or as close as can be to one), I would recommend reading up on books dealing with early childhood trauma and "shadow work." Oftentimes, strong reactions (whether from bipolar disorder or not) can be the result of leftover remnants in our brains of stored traumatic memories (this can cause altered chemical and electrical pathways in the brain). Deep psychological work can be done to heal these wounds, resulting in less triggers. This does NOT cure the biological factor, however. I've used these methods in healing my PTSD, and has worked wonders.

NARRATION: 5/5 EXCELLENT. Loved the narrator's voice and soothing tone.

Bipolar Disorder

This was a good start to describing healing ideas to people with the disease..I had a very hard time with the narrator. He is male describing pregnancy weight gain and feelings.A lady would have been better.Mr Moyano just did not fit this book.I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

very basic information.

this book repeats the same information and ideas way too often. it is very basic and does not give a lot of information on the disorder. The narrator mispronounced many words and it was very obvious English was his second language and I found it very distracting.
