About this listen

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: Blood Money is an extensive rewrite of a book I wrote a few years ago called "Russo's Gold." While I was satisfied with most of "Russo's Gold," there were parts of it that I wanted to improve. I also wanted to incorporate it into the Joe Dillard series, and that is what I've done. I hope you enjoy it.—Scott Pratt

A secret buried deep in the past is on the verge of coming to light.

Its discovery could trigger malevolent forces that have lain in wait for decades.

In the sixth volume of the best-selling Joe Dillard series, Dillard does something he has never done before—he hires a young associate. Her name is Charleston Story, she is bright and beautiful, and in her very first case, she winds up inheriting an item so valuable that it threatens to destroy her and everything she cares about. As Dillard tries to help and advise his young protégé, he finds himself dragged into a web of danger and intrigue, a web so thick that he may never be able to extract himself.

One of my favorites in the stellar Joe Dillard series! The audio performance was also great as with all the books in this series, although as a reader who is from the East Tennessee area where this is set, I wish the narrator had studied how the locals pronounce a lot of the place names (e.g. Blountville, Watauga, Elizabethton). But that's a minor thing that only locals would even notice and doesn't at all take away from the story. Another fine work from Scott Pratt!

Yet another great from Scott Pratt!

This Joe Dillard novel, #6, is a bit darker than the first five, but it is superb. I do not understand why Scott Pratt does not get more attention as a legal thriller author. As always, Tim Campbell does a great job of narration.

Highly recommended, as are all prior books in the series.

Deserves six stars!

Discovered him recently and have read or listened to each of the Joe Dillard series through No. 6. Already have purchased No. 7. I’m not much of a writer so this review won’t be the best, but Scott Pratt and Joe Dillard, et al. are.
I’m not a prude. Have beenlnown to use some cuss words on occasion. And have a best friend who talks like a truck driver. (Sorry truck drivers). I’ve read many James Patterson, John Sanford, Karen Slaughter...many, many mystery writers and enjoyed them. But After awhile the “f-bombs” get to be a bit much. And yes I do realize this is the way a good many folks of all ages talk.
But yay for Scott Pratt, he can write a terrific mystery that includes blood, guts and gore, at times..:well they are mystery-thrillers, after all, without having to be a total garbage mouth to hold our interest.
His family’s highs and lows as the series progresses leads me to believe there’s a lot of reality and life-lessons learned in his writing.
Now I’m moving on to Series 7, A Crime of Passion.
P. S. First started listening to books on long drives taking my son to work and I’m hooked. I like being able to listen/read as I go about cooking, cleaning or just goofing off.
Thanks Audible.

Scott Pratt has completely won me over!!

Pratt does a great surroundi g Joe Dillard with dispictable bad guys and a few highly principled good guys He spri s the plot with sub stories good g on at the same times. He keeps you in suspense as the plot contines with high paced aggressive action. Blood Money is a great read though "In Good Faith " is even better which I rate as five stars.

AnotherJoe Dillard thriller

Joe Dillard is one of the good guys. Scott Pratt wove as exciting tale of gangsters, gold, murder, corruption and justice. I'm ready for the next book in the series. Joe Dillard's life is never dull so I know it will be a good one!

I Love This Series

Tim Campbell is my favorite narrator. He gives distinct separations of character voices. Never feels like one person is "reading" the story. As for the story itself, Joe Dillard is more of a supporting character this time around, but good nonetheless.

Fantastic narrator!
