About this listen

Noah, Jack, and Phil are three average guys who collect horror memorabilia and have a running competition to see who can come up with the most extreme or repulsive horror movie for their weekly guys’ night. When one of the friends gets the opportunity to steal tickets to an exclusive club that touts offering a realistic, immersive torture simulation, he jumps on the opportunity. Once they arrive at the theater they quickly realize that it isn't a simulation at all, and they have delved into an underground world that they don’t belong in. They have to uphold their stolen identities while trying to escape and not die (or kill anyone else) in the process.

The performance didn’t do the story justice. The pace kept me listening from start to finish in one sitting. It may be a better read.

I’m excited about finding Megan Stockton

The reader was not very good. The arrangement to his part are off and not at all on par with the tone of the book

The storyline

Very explicit and graphic. 3 friends decide on a trip to an underground snuff club.

If you aren't ready to read a disturbing piece of literature, do not read this.

***Potential spoiler alert***

This piece has a lot of body gore and has sexual assault and rape in it. It is honestly the first book I've read like this. It might be good if that is your taste, I just wasn't ready for it. Which is fine, to each their own. I truly felt disturbed after reading this. But if you like gore, this review should help you in choosing this book.
The performance however was just bad. Why did we need a fake Jersey accent? It was very out of place, not consistent and odd.
If you can get past that, you might love this book.

I wish I could rewind this out of my brain...

Very disturbing and gory book. Reminds me of Hostel but with a different view. Definitely recommend this quick read.

Disturbing

Unique perspective of a nostalgic theme (think hostel, but with less intention on the side of the people who end up holding the tools). Enjoyable, violent, poignant at times. Narrator brings it all together and the short nature of this book makes it delightfully binge-able in one day! Highly recommend if none of these themes are triggering to you!

Fun lil torture jaunt!

Great book, a quick listen that gets straight to the point and action. Makes you question what you would do in this situation.
