Publisher's summary

Far too young, Apollo Ulfr lost Ilsa, the love of his life. The grief of her loss does not settle in his soul, it solders to it. When he discovers there’s a parallel universe where his wife may have a twin, he feels there’s hope and sets about bringing her to his world.

Ilsa Ulfr of our world is on the run from her husband, Apollo’s twin. The last thing she wants is to be transported to a fantastical world and forced to take his side as his wife.

However, trouble catches up with her, and she has no choice. While Ilsa is trying to find her feet in a fairytale world, Apollo finds the broken Ilsa nothing like his beloved.

But darkness is looming, and evil is amassing. Apollo must protect his land and keep his family safe. Including the new Ilsa.

When circumstances throw them together, sparks fly, and both Ilsa and Apollo are surprised at just how hot those sparks can get.

x

Book four of the Fantasyland series continues with the amazing world building of a parallel universe very similar to Earth but without all the technology (and pollution) as Apollo Ulfr has the witch Valentine find and bring to his home Ilsa Ulfr from the technologically knowledgable Earth. Ilsa, the physically abused wife of a drug kingpin on the run from her husband. The story focuses on the Apollo/Ilsa romance while maintaining the plot of the previous books - that of evil witches attempting to bring their dark reign to Apollo's world. Lots of action, lots of steamy sex, and lots of relationships wave through the story which is intense as good battles evil. Fully entertaining. Do be aware of possible triggers with abuse issues.

Tillie Hooper continues her excellent narration of so many voices. How does she do it?

Love this series

Kristen Ashley has done it again. I have listen to everyone of her books. She hit another home run. I also, must say that Tillie Hopper was amazing. Start from the beginning and you will find your life on hold while you finish. Have fun!!

I can always find something (spoiler alert)

I really hate to be nit pickey but, the book was great, until the end. Even though this was a long book, I still feel like the end was rushed. Our Heroine had a difficult past, losing two babies, and therefore I thought the birth of their daughter should have been shared, during the story. Oh well, there is no perfection, in the world.

Great series

Love this series. Just have to say that Apollo's low whispering voice drove me crazy. Hard to hear and just odd.

MANY MANY MIXED EMOTIONS

You know after The Golden Dynasty and Lahn I never thought a character could tick me off that way again. I ended up coming around to that beautiful oaf, but he still ticked me off beyond anything. Apollo on the other hand was next level douche bag. After his cruel words and the way, he never thought he had to apologize up until that very last time was beyond discouraging. It is a different world I have taken that into consideration, but Madeline left one monster for another and even now I am not entirely sure he deserved her.

Now, after that little rant I really did enjoy Broken Dove. While it was insanely long, and I felt like parts weren't necessary to the story I enjoyed Maddie and Lo's journey. Maddie had been through hell and back and somehow, she still carried herself with grace and beauty in the face of so many things. From a new world, a man with the face of her tormentor, and dragons she took it all as it came. She made her fair share of mistakes but at the end of the day she got her man and their HEA.

While this hasn't been my favorite Kristen Ashley series it has kept me on my toes and intrigued from the very beginning. With only Noc's book left I am hoping this series ends on a high note because my heart just might break if he turns out to be an absolute pain.

I loved this book. At first I was a little confused because I went into this assuming it was a continuation of book one but to be honest this book was much better than book one. I loved these characters and the difficult time they had communicating because of the language barrier. I loved how they figured it out. This was a great love story and man it was hot too. I don't think I have ever enjoyed fantasy as much as I did with this book.

The narration was great! She really did an amazing job with the different languages and the male characters.

Holy cow! What a ride!

I honestly thought there was going to be a cliffhanger to the next book, but thank goodness it was beautifully tied up at the end. I ALWAYS enjoy how wonderfully the characters' stories get completed & all somehow ends up right.

Outstanding as Usual

This fantasy series gets better with
each book. The imagination of Ms. Ashley is fertile and her prose is sensual and beguiling. The narrator was perfect.

she's kind of a doormat

this chick is definitely got some issues. she gets treated like a doormat in two worlds. and rarely stands up for herself. which I guess is the mentality of someone who's been beaten down too many times. this is my least favorite book out of the series
