When Lily Jacobs was born, she inherited Fazire - a genie. Her family had three wishes and they'd only ever used one so Fazire was stuck in the human world. This worked since he'd become a member of the family anyway.
Even with a genie, Lily's young life wasn't perfect. To escape the kids making her miserable at school, Lily buried herself in romance novels. One day, when the teasing was just too much, she used one of her wishes. She told Fazire she wanted to find a man like in her books and she made the most complicated wish Fazire had ever heard. Her wished-for man had to be impossibly handsome, virile, fierce, rugged, and ruthless (amongst a dozen other things).
He also had to think she was beautiful and he had to love her more than anything in the world.
Nathaniel McAllister wasn't born to a life where there were such things as genies granting wishes. His life was filled with drugs, crime, and neglect. He was running errands for a gangster before he was in his teens and, even though life and hard work led him to wealth and respectability, he always knew, deep down, he was dirty. When Nate met Lily he knew he was no good for her but as virile, fierce, rugged, and ruthless as he was, Nate was no match for the pull of sweet, innocent Lily.
Unfortunately, Lily's wish included that she and her hero go through trials and tribulations to test their love. And Fazire wasn't only a good genie, he loved Lily - so he gave her exactly what she wanted.

It took me a long time to finish this book longer than any other Kristen Ashley book has. I started it and then read 3 books in-between.
I lovvvvveeed Fazire, he is my favorite character of this book.
Don’t get me wrong I liked the storyline, I like the characters just kind of wished chunks of the story were missing.
I am all for jumping time lines to get it moving, but I wanted more detail.
I liked Lily & Nathaniel they are some pretty awesome characters just not my favorite KA ones.
Over all it was a good book, I am glad I bought it and read it. Who knows I might re-read it and loved it the second time around like I did with so many others.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

First, the performance was incredible. There were multiple voices and accents and Robins managed them all realistically and beautifully. The entire town of the novel was vaguely magical realist.
Second, the story was so sweet and so fresh! It was slightly meta in that Ashely took a look at the romance tropes and then incorporated them into her novel in a believable and interesting way. The emotions were so real and alive for me precisely because of the sweetness of the language. A mother's love, the suffering of the protagonists, the precociousness of children, and the goofy blustering of Fazir made this book delightful.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone a little tired of reading the same book with the same plot over and over. This book reinvigorated the genre for me. Also, anyone just getting into romance would enjoy this book. It has all the aspects of a romance novel I, personally, love-- A kind and strong heroine, a broody and infatuated-in-spite-of-himself hero, and, as our heroine requests, trials and tribulations to test and strengthen their love.
Please enjoy!

I don't know about you, but I spent many of my younger years watching I Dream of Jeannie and dreaming that someone would make all my wishes come true. Now, I'm a wee bit older and wiser, I realise that my childhood wishes wouldn't have given me long term happiness. Reading/listening to Three Wishes proved that getting what you wished for isn't always the easy way.
Honestly, I wanted to hate Nate, but I can't. He's a hard hero to love but somehow he comes good in the end and I loved him.
Really enjoyed the audio and thought the narrator did a good job. My overall rating stays the same as my original rating when I read the kindle version.
