Publisher's summary

Concerns of Women Over 50 by Jean Shaw looks at the anxieties affecting most women in midlife.

Based on conversations with old school friends, Jean reflects on issues she and her peers are currently facing, such as problems with diet, exercise, finance, health, relationships, sleep, and weight gain.

The topics in Concerns of Women over 50 are discussed in a conversational way, and Jean intersperses her thoughts with jokes and quotes about the subjects under review.

This is not a self-help book as such, and whilst not claiming to be an expert on anything, or offering any detailed solutions, she explains in layman's terms about issues and conditions which many of us don't really understand. These include: antioxidants, cholesterol, high blood pressure, free radicals, why you need to maintain your muscle mass.

She also offers advice on how to recognize if someone has a stroke, and what you can do if you suffer a heart attack and are alone.

Jean suggests sensible small changes you can make in your life to improve the golden years, which come to us all.

She emphasizes what you most likely already know, and that is the proven link between diet, weight, and health, as well as the importance of working hard to maintain strong relationships.

After all, personal wealth comes in many forms, doesn't it, and it's not always financial.

The audiobook ends with a light hearted look back at how things have changed over the years based on two emails she has received , and which highlight just how crazy the world has become.

This book wasn't what I expected.

I'm a senior so most of what's in this book is something I've already dealt with and or experienced. It's more for women that haven't retired or lost a husband.
