About this listen

A normal, if not rebellious, human, Cameron Dupree has spent the last three years finding his way through a school of the rich and powerful...literally.

He's surrounded by the supernatural cream of the crop: children of alpha werewolves, banshees with ties to the United Nations, a faerie princess from another realm of reality, and a teenage succubus who might be the scariest, and sexiest, of them all. Everything is going as great as can be for a vanilla human...until one misstep lands him in trouble with a noble of the Unseelie Fae. Caught between the wrath of a Fae Court and the desire of a Succubus Cabal, Cam must fight to survive, and figure out he might not be that normal after all.

Courts and Cabals contains adult situations and supernatural creatures that generally treat humans like s#!t. It's intended for a mature audience.

A different take on harem

The MC isn't OP, at least not in the beginning but he's fun to watch as he tries to squirm out of the trouble he gets into.

What an evolving adventure

I docked a Star because female voices did get overlapped not a terribly bad way just undesirable. otherwise pretty awesome job!

Some of the mental queues were a little well obvious and the story does strongly push for a relative belief. What I liked most was the constant reality reminders at the right times. What I didn't like was the early mc mental game. It didn't take long to go much better while the ups and downs really take you for a ride the depth of struggles. Thus you have an mc that abides a line of mortality most of which is like a delicate thing.

Enjoyable, fair bit more complex a plot in not the same ways I had expected. Really enjoy it's balence of consistency and just odd chaos. Worthy of sequel, excited to move onto the next simply with what we have. A good amount of detail in the story and mostly uncluttered save previously mentioned beginning which was somewhat unavoidable.

The background of characters does suggest we have a lot to learn still, and the split story was a well done mystery esque design that does payout well.

loved it

this was a very good opener to a new series. As of the time of this review the second book it's already out in audio format and the third one is available in e-book format. I think the author did a fantastic job as well as the narrator. Unfortunately for whatever reason there's a narrator change for the second book and the third book whose release date is closing in quickly. regardless I recommend the series

A great listen

A truly enjoyable read. This book has it all, plenty of action scenes, a little bit of mystery about the main character, a good bit of character development and plenty of sexual scenes that do not fade to black. I look forward to reading the next book in this novel series. The one thing I hope to see in the next novel is deeper romantic feelings between the main characters.

A Really Great Start!

A really great start to an interesting story. The characters are interesting especially after they became less annoyingly juvenile. Now I’m really interested in where the story goes from here! The narration was excellent and kept me into the book enough for it to really grab me! I need the next audiobook!

Most interesting. Most interesting indeed. I had hoped this would be coming to Audible, and I am glad the Narrator did such a wonderful job.

Supernatural First World Problems

OVERALL: Unlike the usual rags to prominence underdog trope, this story begins in a high school for the spawn of the uber elite. I had my doubts at the beginning however. Despite this I percevered and the tale picked up steam quickly as the plot line developed. Not your average cliche adolescent's harem bang fest. This is a good story that happens to have harem elements to it. The writing is very good and will keep me coming back for more.

PERFORMANCE: Brandon Utah did a fine job overall with the narration. That being said the book could of benefited with female voice actor. Some of the female characters came across like a manly construction worker on Friday night trying to sound like a woman while flirting with someone at a drag queen bar. A bit too baritone for my taste.

RECOMMENDATION: While not quite at the level of my absolute favorites (5 stars) this is still a solid listen. Overall this book is a nice introduction to what promises to be a fun series.
