Look out people! More supernaturals to love!

I really appreciated the number of new characters included in this series.
All are unique and have what I call book appeal (you would want to meet them outside of the written page) .

Keep up the great word smithing Ms. Harris. Keep us fans wondering if you've cast a spell on us too.

Great story with a great narrator.

I am just loving this series. Mrs. Harris has such a distinctive writing style. Her words paint a panorama of woods, villages, the hot, damp feel of the South, and dusty old towns in Texas.
Charlaine is a master at writing distinctive characters with dialogue so funny and descriptions of people that are so accurate and quirky that I find myself LOL throughout the book.
This story was very exciting and figuring out all these characters secrets, motivations, and what makes them tick was a true enjoyment for me...on to the next.

A little slow for a Harris novel

I felt as though the storyline ambled a lot, bringing in tangential characters that seemed unimportant, while taking away time that could be spent getting to know more about the midnighters.

Two novels in and we seem to know less than we knew about bon temps after the first few chapters of the first novel. The characters are engaging and likeable, but it feels to me like I'm watching them from afar instead of truly getting to know them.

That being said, the world created is interesting enough that I'll definitely finish the series, I just feel there's a lot of unfulfilled potential here. Hopefully it's realized as the series moves on.

Awesome!

You've got Bo Bo from the Lily Bard series, Manfred from Harper Connelly series, Arthur from Aurora Tea Garden series, Quinn and Barry from Sookie Stackhouse series. A great small easy going town with the supernaturals. It has a laid back feeling with several mysteries going on. I really enjoyed it because it's not about the sex starved love story crap that seems to be the rage today. I would put it down as a "cozy" mystery book with a touch of supernatural. Can't wait for the next!

Best Charlaine Harris ever

The Midnight series is my favorite by far of the Charlaine Harris books. The characters are unique and well developed and the story line is rich. I see the potential for many more tales about the citizens of Midnight.

Quirky town

I loved this book. But I have to say I enjoy everything Charlaine Harris writes! And I really enjoyed seeing characters from her other books in this series.

loved it!

Have to finish this series, just do I can start on her next one! What fun! Great characters. A story that while you might try to guess, the twists keeps you rethinking yourself. Think I would like to move to Midnight now!
