Publisher's summary

I made it back across the cut. Unfortunately, things changed while I was away.

I brought with me an update to the system that spreads like a virus from person to person, bringing with it a new level to the Rebuild America System, politics. A presidential election, the results of which would give someone the power to adjust the system and bend it to their will.

The war between the Horde and the Remnants grows more fierce every day. Border skirmishes are near constant, and men and women water the sands of the wastes with their blood. My people, Pott’s Field, are caught in the middle.

Neutrality is getting harder, and it’s only a matter of time before war begins in earnest.

Luckily war, unlike politics, is something I understand.

Book 3 of this gunslinging LitRPG Apocalypse Series about a courier braving the irradiated wasteland. Featuring a Weird West vibe, a detailed System, gunfights galore, radiation mutants, saloons, and endless adventure, it's perfect for fans of Fallout, Mad Max, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Deadman.

Excellent escapist fun

While this book won't make anyone's list of great literature, it is well-written, internally consistent, and a lot of fun. The narration is excellent.

A beautiful trilogy in a world all of us can imagine.

CB titus is one of those authors who manages to write non-human characters that somehow we all understand and enjoy.
Many lit rpg's i've read tend to go off in a spiral of misdirection and meta issues. CB manages to focus on story while seemlessly integrating the mechanics of an rpg. My hat is off to you CB.

Great ending for a series

I like that the author didnt stretch it out to 50 books. Semi sad note at the end, but PTSD will do that to you.

A well created ending to a great trilogy

I liked watching the evolution of the Portman's ambitions and relationships throughout the series. It's always bittersweet to read the final installment of a great story, but this wraps things up nicely and leaves the listener with the desire to go on the adventure again.

Heath miller is like the salt of audiobooks.

What was a good story on its own, Heath millers narration is like salt on already delicious meal. Bringing out flavor and enhancing an already good story.

While the narrator got his foot in the door for my attention the story is what got me to come back 3 times to the story.
It shows a good author who can have a character who cannot die but still have real steaks in the story. Much like wolverine or Superman, Donovan
Is stronger than pretty much everyone else around him and is almost impossible to kill, yet we still care about him and the people around him.

small tear jerker at the end, but the build up and the way it was ended was very well done.

Grab this great finale! And find out if one Deadman, Donavan can deliver!

I really hadn't planned to get the audiobook, but then I remembered that Heath Miller was the narrator and I found that I couldn't resist! Heath Miller's voice performance is just perfect and maybe even surprising in this trilogy! I really loved it! CB Titus writes from a unique perspective. And he pulls out all the stops writing this third and final book. Be aware that Deadmen are a species of beings and Not Zombies, so kick that silly notion of zombies right outta your head! Although they're not quite against eating human flesh or even other Deadmen but only in the direst of need or in anger. Donavan, the OP MC is a Marshall and trying to stop the injustice that's been piled on to his people. He needs to Stop the human corruption as they themselves build up their defenses with plans to destroy all the Deadmen... so latch onto the book find out if Donavan can succeed... There may even be tears!

In spite of all the violence, as this is not a PG-13 type of novel. I found a couple of quotes that shouldn't offend anyone, but they did amuse me:

"I leaned forward, ensuring he was poisoned just enough to take him out of commission but not enough to kill him. “Tell them, ‘Send ten next time.'”

“Anyway, here’s ‘Here Comes the Moon,’ by the Beetles.”
