Publisher's summary

An all powerful entity bestows individuals with a powerful brand in the form of a tattoo. Using the system that is controlled by the tattoo, you can learn supernatural abilities, acquire knowledge unknown to man, and acquire objects that would only be found in fiction. The world is changing...and it has yet to be determined if it is for better or worse. Two friends who grew up together, Ace and Vincent, have been chosen.

Ace lives for physical improvement. He loves the feeling of breaking his records and growing stronger. Unfortunately, he has plateaued in recent months, discouraging him greatly. Vincent is plagued by little to no desire in anything he does. Good grades? Successful life? He feels nothing. Except, perhaps, the feeling of pain and fear. Sadly for him, modern day society is a peaceful one.

The arrival of the tattoo flipped their lives upside down. It granted them the ability to fulfill their desires. However...they weren't the only ones who were given the tattoo.

Starts out well, but slowly lost all interest

I finished this out but honestly starting from about a third the way through the second book it lost all suspense. It got to the point where you just know the main char is gonna win. The longer this series goes the more anticlimactic the battles become eventually ending up at outrageous levels of power. That being said I did enjoy the first book and the general setting for the novel.

Has some refining to do

I really like the litprg genre, and this book is...similar to most titles I've read, however, it does take a fairly strong turn from a lot of tropes. It has a strong vein of system design in it, the author clearly wanted to make an infinitely scaling system for the MCs to move through and has designed that really well. The narrator is a bit bland at times, but it matches the writer's tone so I think it was a choice rather than a decrement, however, audio quality wasn't the greatest so I still will give it 4 perform stars.

Fun books

Fun story with a bit of ideas from other places that make for a interesting story . it was nice to have a character that was a sociopath but not be the villain. Narration was good not the best but good. it was neat to see the development of society over the span of years affecting a planet.

Overall pretty good

There were a few weird word choices here in there and some odd pauses in the narration

interesting, but predictable

the first 2 books were really interesting, though a bit predictable, but what book isn't these days.

The protagonists are unique in their own way and cover each others weakness and support each other through thick and thin.

The 3rd book is where I almost quit, the whole book felt rushed, it felt cheap and the troped used could be spotted from a mile away. I was actually quite disappointed in the whole 3rd installment of this series.

would recommen spending a credit for this bundle or whatever you would call it, as 80ish % is entertaining.

Another solid RPG-In-Real-Life novel

This is a good trilogy that has a complete story in each installment, but gives room to continue the series. One of the things I enjoyed was that each book in the series was set in a different environment and circumstance.
I requested a copy of this series in order to review it.
If you are a fan of RPG stories, you should like it. Narration was strong as well. If I had one qualm it would simply be; how did these marks on people suddenly give then the abilities in an RPG universe?

great story

I loved the story and the universe that was created. the only issue I had and this might be me being spoiled. i though the narrator was not quite up to the level as others in terms of voice acting and sound effects. still is a great story though and would recommend

Great story

I loved the story. The narrator could have been a better one. I am disappointed to hear the story ends here. Theres a few questions I would like answered from book 2 and a couple of scenarios played out, but hey if the author doesnt want more of my money thats up to him.

good start, terrible finish

I won't get into details and spoil the book, but it starts with such great potential and then fizzles out at the end
