Publisher's summary

In national best-selling author Beverly Jenkins' Destiny series, the Yates men play hard and live hard. And when they find that special woman, they fall hard.

Noah Yates fully believes in the joys of a happy family and a good wife. But that's not the life for him. No, he would much rather sail the wild seas in search of adventure, not tied down. But then the unthinkable happens - he finds himself literally tied down. To a bed. By a woman.

And Pilar isn't just an ordinary woman. She's descended from pirates. And after giving him one of the worst nights of his life, she steals his ship! Now Noah is on the hunt, and he'll stop at nothing to find this extraordinary woman - and make her his.

Trigger warning. Sensitive subject matter.

Great story. Loved every minute of it. For those who are easily triggered, there is a sensitive subject matter addressed in this story.

Destiny's Captive held me CAPTIVE

The narrator uses just the right amount of emphasis in each scene of this delicious love story to draw you in until you can visualize the characters yourself. This is the reason why I love Mrs. Jenkins's books. She is meticulous in how she balances her characters and intertwines the location, the timeframe and the accurate historical events into a wonderful sizzling romance. Then she finds a wonderful person to act it out through voice only and it only become a better more complete project. T. Bolton

I’m definitely not ready for this series to end!

This was definitely a great book! I love everything I learn from Jenkins books. I feel this character is the BEST and most realistic character in the series. I agree with another reader I think Jenkins could’ve help the character get a better resolution in the end but great book regardless!

Kinda saw it coming, but still good!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

As a historical romance this book is very good. They way they talk and are treated is accurate im sure of the time.

Have you listened to any of Thomas Penny’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first book by Thomas Penny. Very nice performance by him. Voices done nicely and with emotion, so I'm sure it wont b my last.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Was a very good book. Had funny parts and sad parts. Noahs past is quite sad.

Perfect Ending

This story was the perfect ending to this series. Poor Noah really suffered during his short life but glad he got his Happily Ever After. Pilar was a fierce, strong woman and just what Noah needed. I could listen to stories about this family and Alanza forever but sadly this was the last book in the series, so I guess I'll have to find a new series to dive into by Beverly Jenkins.
