The ship of legends..

Feedback
It’s been a while since I’ve done a sci-fi book and I’m glad I picked up this one up. The story was very interesting and I enjoyed it. While I do wish there was more action in the book, it still held my interest. The mystery of the Dragon is what really drove the first half of this book. Then discovering what the Dragon was capable of drove the second half. While there were other things that happened in the book, it really did revolve around the Dragon which was satisfying because I was expecting that. I was a little disappointed with how the book ended but it was still very intriguing.

As much as I enjoyed the story, it was really the characters that kept me invested. Mostly, Aden Pendar and Tamson Pavott. Aden was a fantastic main character to follow as he tries very hard to prove himself. He knows he is capable of so much and is truly determined to save his home world. Even after certain events, he gets even more driven. I think the thing I liked about him the most was that he always had the right commands and never made his crew do anything he wasn’t willing to do himself. He was so passionate and it really came through in a positive way. Then there was Tamson. I loved her character so much. She was so versatile and no matter what, she had her priorities straight. She was always set out to prove herself but never bosted how smart she actually was. Her loyalty in the end really shined through and made her character even more likeable.

Final Thoughts
Overall, Dragon of the Stars by Alex J. Cavanaugh was a great sci-fi book. It was cleverly paced without too much unnecessary details. I like how the Dragon was the main focus of the story and kept the suspense throughout the whole story. Aden was a great main character to follow along and very believable as a soon-to-be captain. He had a great crew which really complimented the story. Tamson was fantastic as well, really creating  perfect balance. I recommend this book for those who enjoy sci-fi and looking for a great time crunching space adventure.

Audio Review
This audio was amazing. The narrator was perfect for this story. While he didn’t change the voices so much giving a unique feel to each character, I really enjoyed his enthusiasm in the scenes. When Aden was stressed out or contemplating what to do, he really portrayed that. The editing was fantastic with the way the voices sounded when they should be over the intercoms. This gave an extra depth to the novel that you would not receive otherwise. Be warned that there is a music interlude between each chapter, which did get a little old but very easy to look over.

Good Sci-Fi book!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

It’s been a while since I’ve listened to an actual sci-fi book and I’m glad I was able to listen to this one. The story was very interesting and different from most books I have read. This book had me captured from the first chapter. I loved the mystery of the Dragon, the capabilities of it and how it drove the book. I feel the ending could have been better but overall the book itself was great!

The characters were well formed and put together. The main character was someone that I could relate to- He is someone who is trying to prove himself and prove that he can be more than who he is. He doesn't give up in trying to prove himself and he always makes sure to show his passion.

Overall, this was a great sci-fi book. It had a good pace and not boring at all. It was suspenseful and not too overwhelming in action. It kept me on my seat and had me guessing. The narrator was perfect for this story. He was able to portray the emotions of the characters and I believe that it kept everything interesting.

This is a great book and I suggest picking it up and giving it a listen!

Original sci-fi at its best!!

I REALLY loved this book. I loved the mystery, the nerdiness, the intelligence, the characters, the story, the twists and turns. I loved the CLASSIC 1960s-style sci-fi of this story. I was truly surprised it was written recently, because it feels like a true classic of the genre. It's not what I expected it to be - in a very good way. I was locked into this story.
I'm really excited to have discovered a new author and will definitely seek out more Alex J. Cavanaugh books.
I have to give recognition to the solid performance delivered by Michael Burnette. He really gave this story the flavor it deserved.
I was provided this book in exchange for an honest review.

Good story

This was a good action/Science fiction story. It hooked me early and kept going at a good pace. I liked the characters and the author didn't have them doing stupid things that no-one in their right mind wouldn't do. The book had 2 drawbacks. I don't care for the music between each chapter. I find it annoying. And I didn't like what happened to the main character at the end. Other than that, I'd recommend this book.

Hang in There

While at first, I zoned through all the details I felt could have been left out. When it finally picked up, it became a good story to follow. Making the character's interesting and looking forward to next release.

Fun and Nerdy!

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Nerdy in a very good way. I love dragons so the title was what drew my interest first. I wasn’t sure how I would like the book but it beat my expectations. I loved it. The story is hooking and there are some instances where you can relate to the characters feelings in one way or another.

I highly recommend. Even Star Trek fans would like this. Adventures in space, making new discoveries. It’s fun.
