Story
This is a story of friendship that defies all odds and survives and flourishes regardless of the impediments that arise. The friendship is born out of an almost tragedy and extreme bravery by one Elizabeth Bennet. In saving the lives of those in peril, she thwarts the designs of one of the villains of this tale and makes an enemy of the person. As in canon, our Anne is sickly. In this variation, it is because she had suffered a bad case of childhood scarlet fever. For the purposes of this story, the disease has seriously weakened her cardiovascular system.

Story
The Bennet family of Longbourn, Hertfordshire, had long been known to its neighbours as exceptionally learned though eccentric, but was tolerated because the first Bennets settled there more than four hundred years before, just after the great plague. Both the grandfather and father of the master, Mr. Thomas Bennet, married blue-stocking wives from the Continent. These circumstances had a profound effect on Mrs. Bennet and her five daughters. Because of this broader worldview, the Bennet family was more aware of, and affected by some historical events of the period far outside the twenty-...

Story
Of Whispers and Wisdom is yet another sweet, clean, low-angst novella of 47,000 words. No major villains, just a gentle love story told from a Christian perspective in the usual style of Jae George. Excerpt: “Mama, I won’t cause any problems, I promise,” pleaded twenty-year-old Elizabeth Bennet pleaded as she struggled to comprehend what her parents were saying during their argument in the family’s small parlor. Her father’s words were easy enough to catch, but her mother’s shrill voice was garbled and beginning to give Lizzy a headache. While twisting her head between Mr. and ...

Story
As a child, Elizabeth Bennet's years were split into two distinct segments: her normal life with four rambunctious sisters in Hertfordshire, and summers in Derbyshire on the estate of her father's friend Mr. Darcy. Summertime meant peaks to explore, horses to ride, a library full of books, and friends unlike anyone she knew at home. It was an idyllic escape - until the year that everything came crashing down and summers at Pemberley became no more than a fading memory. When Fitzwilliam Darcy walks into the Meryton Assembly half a decade later, Elizabeth doesn't know how to reconcile the two...

Story
An unbelievable thing has just happened at Meryton’s Assembly Ball. A feather worked its way loose from Miss Bingley’s turban, swooping unerringly for Mr. Darcy’s unprotected eye! Instinctively, the gentleman in question raised his hand and stepped backward to avoid the object, tripping Miss Elizabeth Bennet and then falling upon her prone form. Scandalous! A marriage must occur, of course. But he does not want to marry an unknown country miss and she most certainly does not want to marry the proud, dour Mr. Darcy. Can they find their way to one another despite this inauspicious ...

Story
Note: This is a reedited version of Of Kindness and Kisses which was done to correct several typos. In addition, this new version includes the very short sequel to the original story. More Kisses was previously published as a short story but is, in essence, an extended epilogue to Of Kindness and Kisses, a sweet, clean, low-angst Pride and Prejudice variation. This new version is approximately 75,000 words. Excerpt: Elizabeth Bennet sat at the writing desk in the bedchamber she shared with her sister Jane. It had been some time since she had recorded any thoughts, impressions, or ...

Story
A Bouquet of Bennets is a five book series in which each of the Bennet sisters marries Mr. Collins for different reasons. Each book is a stand-alone novel, and in this, the second book of the series, the Bennet sister featured is Jane. (The first being the story of least regarded Bennet, Mary.) Mr. Thomas Bennet, seeking easy riches and a way to dower his daughters and fund his lifestyle without all the work involved in managing an estate has placed his estate and his family in a precarious position by going into more debt than he can repay. Unlike in canon, the heir to Longbourn is Mr. ...

Darcy has become so wrapped up in duty and consequence that he has become a very unpleasant person. It takes rebukes from several people before he recognizes he must make changes in his life.
This is not an Elizabeth and Darcy love story…more one of survival and the need for understanding, compassion and change. There is an HEA…it is just a minor part of the story.
VV is getting better, but still not a substitute for a real narrator. However, I do appreciate that the book is available to listen to as part of my membership so not paying for something I wouldn’t want to keep but still able to enjoy listening.
