Enjoyable

An interesting story. The focus is away from Longborne and the Bennet sisters and their foolish mother.

Sweet and Surprising

I am an avid Jane Austen enthusiast and am rather picky about adaptations or "sequels" to her original novels. I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I felt the developmental arch for each character was in line with their original selves and the twist as to who our villian is was creative. They certainly had the hallmarks of potential for insanity previously so it was a leap that made sense to me. This was an easy listen that I consumed quickly. I really rather enjoyed the whole of it. Bravo!

Great Story

A great book I could recommend and listen to again. Virtual voice is the only drawback.

Great story. Poor Narration

I have read this story numerous times and was excited for an audio narration. Sadly, the virtual voice detracted from the wonderful writing. Words were pronounced incorrectly and were sometimes skipped. Punctuations were read at times, and I'm still baffled by "Darcy" being pronounced as "Daker." It was also emotionless, loud during tender moments, and pitched inappropriately for the characters. I wish such a beautiful book was not ruined by a fail in narration. I hope this gets fixed with a real narrator.

It is a good storyline

I skipped reading this book three times because the title warned me away. I figured it would be too stressful to read about a kidnapping. But it was just fine and the writing was good. Virtual voice is a nuisance especially with misspellings but it was tolerable.

Decent, worthy of a human narrator.

Far and away better than most virtual voice novels. Interesting even if a little far fetched premise, acceptably well executed.

Virtual voice not to shabby

This virtual voice was easy to listen to & didn’t detract from the story. Most of the time, I really dislike VV.

The storyline was great and the variations refreshing.

The virtual voice is not great but not outright detestable. There were some words however, that the pronunciation was completely annihilated...but easily enough to ignore

Darcy, not Dacre!

I could not listen to colonel fitzwilliam discuss the kidnapping with ‘Dacre’! Ruined the listen.

great story, narration leave something to be desired

The story was great but computerized narration will never be as good as an actual narrator. Aside from the fact that each character speaking is read the same way, which makes it hard to know who is speaking unless you're paying close attention. There was also issues with pronunciation. Most notably Darce was pronounced "D acre" (like an acre of land) rather than as it should have been (a shortening of the name Darcy). Since I was listening and didn't visually have the book in front of me it took me a little bit to figure out what was going on.
