About this listen

Unforgettable characters, sizzling romance, and riveting suspense: These are the trademarks of beloved author Judith McNaught.

With millions of devoted fans and 10 New York Times best-sellers to date, McNaught is a writer whose work just gets better with each new novel - and Every Breath You Take is the book fans have been waiting for.

Returning to the lavish Chicago setting of her popular novel Paradise, and revisiting some of that book’s characters as well, this story will captivate in inimitable Judith McNaught style.

High atop a snow-covered hill, the stately old Wyatt mansion is perched like a crown, its stone spires pointing upward, its stained glass windows glowing like colorful jewels. Such opulence means success and, surely, happiness. But on the eve of wealthy philanthropist Cecil Wyatt’s 80th birthday, all the money in the world won’t bring back his missing grandson, William Wyatt. The only thing for certain: Foul play was involved. The family, the police, the media - all have tried in vain to discover the young man’s fate. Now suspicion has turned shockingly toward William’s own half-brother, the rather distant and enigmatic Mitchell Wyatt.

Kate Donovan never dreamed that a chance romantic encounter on a tropical island paradise would tag her as a suspect in a high-society murder case. But after Kate tangles with the darkly charismatic Mitchell Wyatt, she finds herself cast in a shadow of guilt and mistrust. As the Chicago police tighten their net, it will take all of Kate’s ingenuity to clear her name. With her calm, cool wit, and the help of a man who may or may not be a dangerous catch, Kate vows to claim the life and love she desires.

Love Judith McNaught!

Where does Every Breath You Take rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

From the perspective of plot, depth of characters, this book ranks high. Overall performance ranks very low, painful listening.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Susan Denaker?

YES! Pace much too slow; made listening to the book frustrating. In summary -- a great book, but terrible narration. The abridged version had a much more suitable narrator; please go back to that person.

Amazing

Judith McNaught is a masterful storyteller. You will laugh and you will cry and most definitely be entertained. And if your anything like me you will be disappointed when it's ended but happy because there are more great novels of hers to enjoy.

Missing parts but still a wonderful book

This was like reading the book, then watching the movie. I listened to the Audible version. then, because of the glitch of having several lines repeated, I read the reviews. when I saw comments about missing text, I bought the Kindle version. OMG..the ending was so much better in the Kindle version! Both were still wonderful.

The Nararrator was good but I would have liked a different tone for Mitchell.

A well rounded story.

Romance, mystery, intrigue, steamy. A nice story to keep you occupied on a rainy day. Lighthearted entertainment.

Great story / Poor quality recording

In this audio, many lines were repeated and often the tone changed in mid paragraph. I love all that Judith McNaught writes so the story kept me enthralled but I wish I had gotten written text instead of this audio version.

Every Breath You Take

This book was entertaining, well written as are all of Judith McNaught books are . I desperately want to hear Judith other books, such as Paradise, Perfect, Whitney My Love and more on audio. I, along with several of my audio buddies, have been waiting such a long time and wonder if our dreams will be granted.

The inner struggle was real!

What did you love best about Every Breath You Take?

The development of the characters

Who was your favorite character and why?

Kate. I loved that despite the odds against her she stood alone and made a life for herself and Danny. I thought the advice frof her girlfriend was terrible and destructive to Kate's overall good.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

When Mitchell realized he had a son and when Kate introduced Danny to his dad.

Any additional comments?

I resent knowing that scenes were removed from the book; I feel cheated paying for a complete book and getting less. Now I feel compelled to look for the book in print which defeats the purpose of subscribing to Audible for unabridged novels!
