I've always been a fighter. With parents who barely managed to stay out of jail and two little brothers who narrowly avoided foster care, I became skilled at dodging the punches life threw at me. Growing up, I didn't have anything I could call my own, but from the moment I met Eliza Reynolds, she was always mine. I became utterly addicted to her and the escape from reality we provided each other. Throughout the years, she had boyfriends and I had girlfriends, but there wasn't a single night that I didn't hear her voice.

You see, meeting the love of my life at age 13 was never part of my plan. However, neither was gradually going deaf at the age of 21.

This audiobook was so very enjoyable! I loved the characters of Eliza, Till, Flint and Quarry. The hero and heroine have loved each other since they were young teens and depend on each other to make it through the poverty of life, challenges of bad parenting and trying to make it in the world. At 17, Till becomes involved with a local gym owned by a former heavyweight boxing champion, while he is going deaf due to a genetic trait. He starts training and becomes very good at it, but is afraid to take the relationship with Eliza further because he doesn’t want to lose his best friend. Through the journey toward becoming a professional boxer and growing into adult love the author gives us a heartwarming story. Narration was well done as well.

I'm not really into fighting but you don't have to be. Great love story. Emotional sex and chemistry. I like raw real sex and still found this book very satisfying. Love the character development and good drama, not made up, worn out, high school drama. Surprising new favorite. Blew through the rest of the series!!

This was truly an awesome book. Aly Martinez did a wonderful job bringing all these characters together. I loved Till's protective side and how he always took care of Eliza and his 2 brothers. Eliza is sweet and loving. I liked the family that they built.

I really enjoyed this book and narration! I hadn't read this series before but really loved the characters and story so much so that I went out and read the 2nd and 3rd book right away, I hope they are available on audio too soon! The narrators had a clear and high quality sound and captured the voice of the characters extremely well and added to my enjoyment of the book.

The growth of devotion and development of a unique family was truly beautiful. overcoming adversary at every turn, Till and Eliza embodied loyalty and love. There is quite a bit of profanity for those who would be offended; the story was exceptional and would have benefited from less profanity. I fell in love with all the Paige men.
