**An Enemies-to-Lover, Steamy Hockey Romance***

What happens when a star hockey player ruins your trip to Cabo… on purpose? You end up on the plane ride from hell headed to his snowy hometown.

He’s my mortal enemy and one of the hottest NHL players in the league, but I have no interest in hockey players… well, not anymore. And Lake Powers is no exception.

Now I'm stuck sleeping under the same roof of this picturesque mountain mansion and I have to deliver what I set out to do... turn Lake into America's Sweetheart with this charity event. I won't allow myself to get distracted by the man the puck bunnies refer to as "Magic Stick".

What I didn't expect to find when I arrived in Aspen is a different side of Lake than the filthy hockey player I thought he was.
So, when he offers up a bet that I'm sure to win, I jump the gun and agree before hearing his indecent wager.

Now I’m locked into his terms and he's hedging his stake on one thing he knows about me... I never back down from a bet.

Got to love a good hockey romance

Overall I really liked this book and the characters even though every once and while I wanted to knock some sense into the MMC for being stupid!
What’s not love about a good story with two people who hate/love each other and are forced to spend a week in a house together in his hometown?! I’m a sucker for a good book about a guy who “doesn’t do relationships” who will only do it for her. The tension was amazing and there was plenty of drama to boot.
It was a bit predictable and I saw everything coming but sometimes you need a good predictable story to lighten the mood and make you happy!
I do think the first book of this series was a bit better but this one was still amazing and the writing is always top notch.
I will definitely continue the series!
My only grievance is that the writing sometimes doesn’t translate the best into an audio book and it was occasionally hard to figure out if it was the character talking or if it was their inner dialogue.
Like I said that was the only thing I found that was a bit difficult and it has nothing to do with the book itself!
Again overall amazing book and I do recommend it!

An enemies to lovers hockey romance

The narrators are excellent in this tale about Lake, a hockey player who only hooks up with women one-time due to an event in his past. Tessa works as PR for the hockey team and she despises him. When she’s forced to follow him to Colorado during the off-season so she can document his charity work in his hometown, the gloves come off as they spar with each other. Their relationship evolves once she meets his family and sees how sincere he is about charity work and finally shares a past event that has wracked him with guilt. She had bad experiences with a past boyfriend which had kept her on guard with Lake before she finally understands why he stayed apart from her for so long.

Oh the angst

The story, though it wasn’t one of my favorites so far was good. The spice is definitely spicy. I wish that Tessa would’ve had a bit more of a backbone when it came to lake. I feel like she didn’t take any shit from him and she was so tough on him when it came to work, but as soon as he showed her any sort of affection or any sort of attention, she just melted and didn’t stick up for herself when she really should’ve shoved her foot up his ass at some point.

Meh; too many inconsistencies

Calling this week off a bye week is pretty misleading. There are no bye weeks in hockey. And why whine over losing your week in Cabo if you’re just going to work all day anyway. Seems pretty unrealistic to think she wouldn’t want to go to a festival. On her vacation. I love a silly hockey themed romance for the sheer fun of it, but I still want SOMETHING to hang my suspension of disbelief on. And the first three books in this series rely far too heavily on the live together trope. Makes the reader feel by the end of the story that this won’t be a forever couple. And finally, authors, if you are going to use the device of foreshadowing and secrecy, at least make the secret something worth trying to hush up! There was absolutely no reason for Lake to be so secretive about the big mystery of what happened 15 years ago. Secrets are kept for shame. What did he have to be ashamed of or being held culpable? Just overall a meh story.
