Sales is a skill anyone can learn and master - and introverts are especially good at it once they learn how to leverage their natural strengths. Introverts aren't comfortable with traditional tactics like aggressively pushing a product or talking over a customer's objections. That's the beauty of The Introvert's Edge: it doesn't focus on the sale itself but on a sales system that helps introverts feel sincere instead of sales-y.

Meet a genuine American folk hero cut from the homespun cloth of America's heartland: Sam Walton, who parlayed a single dime store in a hardscrabble cotton town into Wal-Mart, the largest retailer in the world. The undisputed merchant king of the late 20th century, Sam never lost the common touch. Here, finally, inimitable words. Genuinely modest, but always sure of his ambitions and achievements. Sam shares his thinking in a candid, straight-from-the-shoulder style. In a story rich with anecdotes and the "rules of the road" of both Main Street and Wall Street, Sam Walton chronicles the inspiration, heart, and optimism that propelled him to lasso the American Dream.

Story
The “mountain men” were the hunters and trappers who fiercely strode the Rocky Mountains in the early to mid-1800s. They braved the elements in search of the skins of beavers and other wild animals, to sell or barter for goods. The lifestyle of the mountain men could be harsh, existing as they did among animals, and spending most of their days and nights living and camping out in the great unexplored wilds of the Rockies.

Story
In Made in America, Bryson de-mythologizes his native land, explaining how a dusty hamlet with neither woods nor holly became Hollywood, how the Wild West wasn't won, why Americans say 'lootenant' and 'Toosday', how Americans were eating junk food long before the word itself was cooked up, as well as exposing the true origins of the G-string, the original $64,000 question, and Dr Kellogg of cornflakes fame.

Must read before attending timeshare presentation!
STORY: 4 stars
PERFORMANCE: 4 stars
OVERALL: 4 stars
*** I received a free Audible copy of this audiobook for free in exchange for my honest opinion. ***
STORY
In the introduction, the author makes it clear that the goal of this book is to educate readers on how to not just understand the timeshare industry but how to use the author's knowledge, "to get free trips to exotic and luxurious 5-star resorts with no strings attached". I'm pleased to say that the author met his stated goal! For me personally, this book also reconfirmed my prior suspicions that timeshares are not wise investments. Whether you have any knowledge about timeshares or not, after listening to this brief audiobook or reading the ebook, you will certainly know 3 things:
1. What a timeshare is.
2. Why you should never buy a timeshare.
3. How to attend timeshare presentations or, "tours" where you can obtain free items, vouchers and free trips.
The author was very opinionated and adamant about his strong, non-wavering feelings about why people should never buy timeshares. Without providing a bunch of boring statistics that might put readers to sleep, he/she adequately supported these beliefs, providing reasoning that was concise. More importantly, this information was delivered in a format that was direct and genuine, convincing me to agree with everything I read.
I personally have experience with attending timeshare tours in exchange for free trips and incentives. For me, it's not something I personally found value in (wink wink to the author). However, if I, in the future, decide to spend some of my time attending timeshare presentations in exchange for the freebie being offered, I most definitely will read this book before I go! I highly, highly recommend that anyone planning on attending a timeshare tour/presentation read or listen to this book before attending!
PERFORMANCE
This audiobook was narrated by Doug Green. Although Mr. Green isn't what I would consider a spectacular performer, he did not do a terrible game job either. At times, Green used a gameshow host-style voice, which was a bit exuberant for the material being read. Also not a consistent trait of his performance but present was the way that Mr. Green did not read seamlessly. There were a few times that I heard a slight stutter or heard him swallow, neither of these catastrophic to his performance yet these are things one does not hear when listening to an audiobook narrated by a highly seasoned professional or a narrator with highly sophisticated equipment. I did however appreciate that Green spoke with passion in his voice since nonfiction can often be extremely dull!

HOW STUPID IS THIS??
What disappointed you about Get Paid to Travel?
Okay so let me summarize this for you.
1. Timeshares are bad - don't buy them
2. Go on their free incentive vacation and sit through their day-long sales pitch
3. Don't buy into their sales pitch and buy a timeshare.
Okay, if you look at every single review of people whom have ever done that, everyone says that the vacation is NOT worth having to sit through that grueling day of sales pitching and presentations to get you to buy into the timeshare.

ehh
three chapters. essentially, take advantage of owner incentives just don't buy. leaves out all the benefits of buying because the crumbs offered to tours are good enough. fails to ask, if they are giving this stuff to non owners, what do owners get. not a good look at the benefits and ways to manipulate your timeshare, just a good look at how to get free stuff when listening to owner presentations. any resort will offer this.
