About this listen
A crucial intervention for a society heading in the wrong direction, offering a new way to live in the modern age. Read by the author.
We are losing ourselves. We're chasing the wrong things, asking the wrong questions, and polluting our minds. It's time to stop, it's time to resist and it's time to rethink the fundamental social blueprint that our lives are built upon.
As an 18-year-old, black, broke, lonely, insecure, university drop-out, from a bankrupt family, I wrote in my diary that I wanted to be a 'Happy Sexy Millionaire' by the age of 25. By 25 I was a multi-millionaire having created a business worth over $300m dollars. Ironically, in achieving everything I set out to, I learnt that I was wrong about almost everything... The world had lied to me. It lied to me about how you attain fulfilment, love and success, why those things matter, and what those words actually mean.
In this book, I'll dismantle the most popular, unaddressed lies about happiness that we've been led to believe. I'll expose the source of these lies, examine the incentives that fuel them and replace them with a practical set of scientifically proven and unconventional ideas that will help you to live a truly fulfilled life, a life full of the love you seek and the success you deserve.

Story
Artificial intelligence is smarter than humans. It can process information at lightning speed and remain focused on specific tasks without distraction. AI can see into the future, predicting outcomes and even use sensors to see around physical and virtual corners. So why does Intelligence frequently get it so wrong? The answer is us. Humans design the algorithms that define the way that AI works and the processed information reflects an imperfect world.

Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Story
The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Nothing new, but covers a lot of ground and is written well.
If you've read a lot of self help business books, consider this one a review of the field. He has a useful perspective, doesn't over explain his points, and uses real life stories that most will relate to. I would give it a 5 because it enjoyable and had value, but there's nothing novel in here - either in the theories or the explanation of those theories. Still, it's a great book.

Great audio
It felt like a conversation, which kept me engaged. I’m glad it was narrated by Steven himself. I enjoyed this.

A fresh perspective on familiar concepts. Well worth the time and investment. Highly recommended!
I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did, given I've spent years and thousands of dollars on personal development. If I had to do it over again, I’d start with this book before paying a cent on other personal development books and programs. It’s a well-researched, no-nonsense book with a fresh perspective on success and motivation. I'm sure I'll listen to this book several times a year.

WOW!
All I can say is wow. This book opened my mind to personal care and success in a way I have not experienced before. I can say with certainty that every single person should read this book and a minimum of one sentence or chapter will impact them positively.

One of the best books I’ve listened too!
This book has absolutely changed my way of life and thinking. The way Steven breaks down his struggles and thoughts in this book is unlike anything I’ve heard before. I highly, highly recommend this book and will continue to listen to him over and over!

great content others dont describe
great stuff! I've honestly read over a hundred and seventy different books about business motivation and Leadership and this one talks about things that I haven't heard another books. It's an excellent read and I highly suggest to anybody who's considering this notion of trying to buy their way into happiness. hi 100% respect the fact that he doesn't need to tone down his language for the sake of looking more professional. I feel that's when we suppressor language so much just so we're not swearing and doing other things we don't really drive the important points home.
