Publisher's summary

Heather is a single mom who has always done what's best for her daughter, Chloe. From birth up to the age of seventeen, Chloe has never been any trouble, until one night when she calls her mother with some shocking news.

There's been an accident. And now there's a dead body . . .

As always, Heather puts her daughter's safety before all else, but this is one time when she goes too far. Instead of calling the emergency services, Heather hides the body, saving her child from police interviews and public outcry.

But as Heather knows, everything she does has an impact on Chloe's behavior, and as time goes on and the pair struggle to keep their sordid secret hidden, Heather begins to think that she hasn't been such a good mum after all.

In fact, she might have been the worst role model ever . . .

A gripping psychological thriller from the author of Til Death Do Us Part and Run Away With Me.

Great twist on a mother, daughter relationship

Pleasantly surprised at how dark and twisted it became. I kind of rolled my eyes in the beginning thinking it was just going to end up being more like a lifetime type story. But then it develops into something pretty satisfying if you're into more of the dark mysteries. The narrotor was outstanding.

When loving your kids too much goes too far…

I liked this story. A mother’s love for her child is a great and dangerous thing, because how far are you willing to go to protect your child, even when they do something horrible?

Good twists and turns

I thought the story may have been predictable but I was very wrong. I didn’t know how it would end.

Worst mother ever

Some of the dialogue & events were illogical. it was hard to get through at times and there was so much repetition.

What a book!

I have to say this was my first time reading a book from this author and I wasn’t at all disappointed. I loved having two point of views ,Heather and Chloe. I was hooked from the very first page and up until the end. Loved how a mother’s love knows no bounds and how her daughter appreciates everything she does for her. There are secrets, a true nature that is revealed and blackmail, murders, relationships are tested, and a bombshell ending.

As Always, All Hurst's Books Are Great!

I've noticed "SB" posts fake nasty reviews on all Daniel's books. Apparently it's personal and petty. The books have all been good and I am glad I recognized a vendetta and ignored them. If the person actually hated his writing so much, why keep buying every book as soon as it comes out? This book was not terrible nor were ANY of his others and I have now purchased the whole collection! He's one of my favorite authors.

Awful, awful, awful

This is so terrible. There is no substantial plot here. It is 6 hours of a mother and daughter repeating the same words, phrases, thoughts over and over again. It is aggravating beyond belief. We don't need to hear the same monologue spoken aloud by the mother to the daughter, then immediately repeated internally in the daughter's thoughts, and finally repeated in the mother's internal musings. It is a bunch of filler to make up for lack of plot.

The story defies credulity. The justification for the lead characters' behavior is preposterous.
