About this listen

Immortal Faerie and ancient feuds, secrets and sacrifices - a thrilling new chapter in the bestselling Fever series begins, featuring Dani, Ryodan, and other beloved characters, as they battle to save Dublin from the rising of a terrifying evil determined to enslave the human race.

There is no action without consequence.

Dani O'Malley was nine years old when the delusional, sadistic Rowena transformed her into a ruthless killer. Years later, Dani is tough and hardened, yet achingly vulnerable and fiercely compassionate, living alone by her own exacting code. Despite the scars on her body, and driven by deeper ones carved into her soul, no one is more committed to protecting Dublin. By day she ensures the safety of those she rescues, by night she hunts evil, dispensing justice swiftly and without mercy, determined to give to those she cares for the peace she has never known.

There is no power without price.

When the Faerie Queen used the dangerously powerful Song of Making to heal the world from the damage done by the Hoar Frost King, catastrophic magic seeped deep into the earth, giving rise to horrifying, unforeseen consequences - and now deadly enemies plot in the darkness, preparing to enslave the human race and unleash an ancient reign of Hell on Earth.

There is no future without sacrifice.

With the lethal, immortal Ryodan at her side, armed with the epic Sword of Light, Dani once again battles to save the world, but her past comes back to haunt her with a vengeance, demanding an unspeakable price for the power she needs to save the human race. And no one - not even Ryodan, who would move the very stars for her - can save her this time.

Terrible male narration...

This is the first review that I have ever done. I absolutely love the fever series!!! My only complaint is that I really wish that they would have kept the first male narrator for the entire series. The male narration for the last 2 books was terrible.. The only thing that kept me listening is the wonderful story.

Amazing!!!

I was absolutely on the edge of my seat for the entire book!! I couldn't turn it off, and was a bit heartbroken when it was over.

KMM never disappoints

I love all her books. I felt like this one dragged on a tiny bit at first and then ended so soon, just as it was getting really good. (i think it was neccesary to the plot though so it's not really a complaint) So many questions left unanswered. Can't wait until the next book, and everything Dani and Ryo 💕

the female narrator was good as Dani. took me at least 3/4 of the book to accept the male narrarator though.... it was a bit distracting trying to put that voice to Ryodan and the others faces... miss Phil Gigante

Enthralling

This was so interesting and my favorite in the series so far. It was surprising from the beginning until the end.

Love KMM

This world KMM has built is amazing. She also seems to like The Labyrinth movie. There were a few references to it. And with a small obsession with the word obsidian lol.

The female narrator Amanda Cobb is seriously wonderful as Dani, not so much as Mac though (I may be remembering her doing Mac’s voice in the last one but from the sample of the next, it’s the same). That much of a southern drawl is a little too much for a girl in her early to mid-twenties. Jim Frangionne was really out of place as Ryodan as far as the voice goes, not narration itself. Took me out of the story a little and I may end up reading the actual book instead of listening for the next one because of those voices. Both are good at narration in general though. Also, for a previous book, when Chloe (Dageus’ wife) shows up briefly, the narrator did a Scottish voice, but Chloe isn’t Scottish, she’s American. Not a huge deal but, as someone who has read all of the Highlander books multiple times, it bugs. If she’d been in more of it with the wrong accent it would have been really irritating.
So, my only true issues are to do with voices and accents.

Overall, it’s an amazing book and series though.

High Voltage--bk 10---good story BUT....

High Voltage is well written, BUT the first half is bit long winded.
Amanda Leigh Cobb and Jim Frangione do and excellent narration.

Dani O'Malley is the main character. It shows what she faces as she is left alone to manage without her accumulated family. This is the part that gets to be a bit redundant. I was so happy when some of the old characters started to show up.

New foe will be found--and the Fae have changed, are altered, and those left behind are finding that the new conflict is heading to another war. Old protective runes used to protect the abbey and humans and locations, from the Fae are no longer of use. Ryodan returns to be at her side. With him, her sword of light, and the Dani determination they move straight away into danger. But this time she has a couple of strange personal changes that make her a bit of an unknown, as how this will all turn out you must read the story.

I must say it is my least favorite of the Fever series to date. But the first part is why (being it's dragged out). By the end of the story, it does have it's place in the series.
