About this listen

Read by the author.

The phrase “cleanliness is next to godliness” isn’t found in the Bible. Your house can never be good enough to please God—not because you can’t scrub it or declutter hard enough, but because that is never what He was looking for in the first place. Join Dana K. White, author of Decluttering at the Speed of Life, as she works through removing the shame associated with having a messy home and reveling in the grace and love of our Savior.

This book is for you, if no matter how competent you feel in other parts of your life, you still feel overwhelmed and defeated by your messy home. While it’s true that keeping a clean and organized living space can contribute to a sense of peace and well-being, it should never be equated with your worth, moral standing, or what Jesus thinks about you.

Dana K. White, trusted by millions for her no-holds-barred cleaning confessions and practical decluttering method wants to:

  • remove any shame or identity crisis associated with disorganization
  • help you understand God's love and purposeful design for you that is much bigger than any mess in your house.

Sharing relatable stories, biblical teaching, and practical life application, Dana will help you find a sense of freedom, acceptance, and a deeper understanding of God's love and purpose for you and your house.

Fantastic!

Dana hit a home run with this book. It truly is fantastic. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of her books, but this is now my favorite. It's so clear that she loves Jesus and she makes Biblical truth accessible while also profound. She made me laugh (many times) and tear up when I could hear Jesus speaking to me through her words. I will recommend the book to many and will most definitely listen to it again soon! Thanks Dana!

how practical and spiritual truths intersect

I loved seeing your heart for Jesus, and how he's worked in you and also gifted you to teach others. Thank you for for not taking verses out of context and speaking truth. I've always loved your YouTube channel and podcast. I'm admit, I've never read your blog. But I love your no mess decluttering system as it has really been helpful to me.

Dana's first book got me hooked!

Dana White's first book got me hooked on "self development" books. She has always been easy for me to relate to. Not only is she a talented writer, but seems to always make me laugh. Her books have never let me down and although I was hesitant to listen to this one. it was one I needed the most. Thank you!

God’s grace for us in the thing we find shameful

This is a beautifully clear telling of the gospel! Dana’s example of finding that her secret struggle could give glory to God is so encouraging. The acceptance and love of God is offered without any measure of performance on our part, and Dana describes this truth so well!

This is for everyone who wants a relationship with Jesus, not just the super messy people.

God cares about us and wants to help us with whatever we struggle with. Dana learned these lessons through her struggles with her messy house, but we all need to learn this, no matter what we struggle with. I loved the book SO MUCH!
