Most insightful about the ways of people

you can't expect much of a story from a book like this. so the listen does drag on a little bit. I probably wouldn't believe 95% of the stories that the author says she experienced, but I understand why she gave them. Do you help make a point about how a person would feel and react to each trick that she gives in this book. and every single trick will blow your mind :-)

Good tips but not enjoyable listening

Probably better to read than to listen to. The narrative/ voice struck me as without emotion and almost mechanical in sections. Also, with the large number of tips, it would be easier to reference back on a paperback.

Investing in your communication skills is worth it

I first listened to Leil’s earlier book, How to Talk to Anyone. I soaked up the information and began applying her tips and tricks into my daily dialog. I was pleasantly surprised to see that noticing and acting on small communication queues DOES make a difference. I’m confident that, regardless of what field you work in, the advice Leil shares in this book, and in her previous work, is sound. I have recommended her books to my colleagues and friends because I know they’re well worth the investment. Also, her writing style is excellent and entertaining - she is an example worth following.

Decent Advice, but Comes Off Condescending

It started off fairly decent with some good advice but the stories and antidotes are fairly ridiculous. Instead of being humorous and helpful, they come off as very childish and condescending.

insufferable

I listened up till chapter 26 where I couldn't take it any longer. Offers no real people skills for the business world. One chapter was dedicated to walking chest out and sitting upright in a chair and used an example of a gorilla, stating, "Me big, me strong!" to exemplify her past ranting.
