About this listen

Brighton Longfield is kinda bad at life. She's divorced, childless, and she just got fired...again.

With dwindling savings and few prospects, she packs her possessions into a U-Haul and sets out for the little town of Coventry, where she inherited a dilapidated old house from her Great Aunt "Mad" Maude Tuttlesmith.

Coventry is supposed to be a stop in the road for Brighton. The plan is to fix up the house, sell it, and then figure out what to do with her life. You know what they say about the best-laid plans....

Coventry isn't your typical small town. At one time, it was home to two powerful families of witches. But, the Skeenbauer and Tuttlesmith families couldn't put their differences aside, and eventually, the feuding drove the Tuttlesmith witches out of town.

The matriarch of the Skeenbauer family isn't pleased to have a descendant of the Tuttlesmith witches return. The thing is, the Tuttlesmiths stopped practicing magic when they left Coventry, and Brighton has no idea she's a witch. She's about to get a big surprise.

Broom Fits.

I'm so looking forward to the sequel to this book. There were no nothing parts.

Disappointing

I wanted to like this. The story is decent, but not surprising at all. The writing is amateurish. Not a terrible read, but nothing to come back to the rest of the takes for.

Cute, predictable novella

This is definitely more of a novella than a novel or maybe just a chapter. The writing is simplistic, but it is cute.

Like the overall witchy theme

I liked this book although I wish there was a little more detail at times. I’m still interested enough to proceed with book 2 for sure.

A good plus catalog find!

I liked the story and the characters. It is a short story but well done. Glad I found the series before its removed from plus catalog.

Excellent start to a new series

Sara Bourgeois has crafted a book that is an excellent start to a new series. The characters instantly felt more like friends telling a story than characters in a book. Brighton Longfield and her familiar Mary quickly grew on me. The story was original and left me wanting more. So on to book 2....

Nice Peace of Fluff

Short story that goes great with doing housework or at bed time. Easy to listen to, without having to pay close attention. Too bad the second book isn't on here.
