Publisher's summary

The heir presumptive to the Viscount Rathmoor, Dominick Manton once had his heart's desire within reach - a bright future as a barrister and engagement to Jane Vernon. Then a shattering betrayal by his vindictive brother George snatched away Dom's inheritance and his hopes of offering Jane a secure future. Now George is gone, and the viscountcy has been restored to Dom, since his brother's widow Nancy never bore an heir. But when Nancy goes missing, a panicked Jane calls on her former fiancé to track down her cousin.

Dom knows the mistakes of the past may be unforgivable - but now, entangled together in mystery and danger, will they rekindle a passionate longing that was never lost to begin with?

Absolutely loved this book

I loved this book. It was a good ending to a great series. I am sad to see it end. Will definitely listen to it again.

A good book to end the series

A good end to the series. Not my favorite but still good. This book started out well and the narration was very well done. About half way through it seemed to lag a bit and I had to replay parts because I couldn't stay interested. It finished strongly and wrapped up everyone's story nicely. I especially liked Dom's description of the Peterloo Massacre; a bit of history to research.

Enough!!!

Ms Jeffries ended the series on a high note. The heroine, Jane, was the most annoying of the heroines in the three previous books. I fast forwarded probably through 1/2 of the book just to avoid listening to her. shudder As with the previous 3 books in this series, I stuck with the book just to see what happened in the end. Sooooo,,,,I'm through with this series. Someday, long into the future, I may listen again because the book really is good.

Fantastic final installment

But dangit, why does it have to be the final installment!? Lol

Ok first I want to say…. When there are series, in my opinion it’s important to space them out. When we read them back to back, the “flavor” is different. Kind of like if you made two different batches of cinnamon for toast. Independently you’d enjoy each one. But if you made a piece of toast one from each batch, and ate one piece right after the other one, you would notice the subtle nuance differences. They both are perfectly good, but you need to space them out to appreciate the flavor of each one. The same is true for reading books in a series.

Now, I loved this finale (though, couldn’t Nancy have a story? Or Edwin?) and loved that everyone was in it. All the siblings, and their partners, came together to make this story and it was so enjoyable.

Narration was good. I’ve said this before, that Corrie sometimes sounds like shes got sit in her mouth, but the story, and her narration, is good enough to want to overlook it.

I got this book for $3.42 and it was one billion percent worth it.

Oh, side note. The Peterloo Massacre was a real, and worth a small bit of research. Crazy event.

Awesome!

I love Sabrina Jefferies' writing! I knew Jane would need to be a strong intelligent woman to deal with Dom & Sabrina did not disappoint.

Together at last!

So this is the last book in the series ... and sadly it is my least favorite. That doesn't mean it isn't good - just not AS good!

Dom is so rigid and stalwart. He really needed to let loose. Jane has decided she has nothing to lose so she is a bit more out going.

The story for this book was a bit of a mystery, which made you want to know what the TRUTH was. The relationship was already established - they just had to get BACK TOGETHER - which was a bit annoying at times.

Overall - I enjoyed it - but it was just a touch of a let down after 3 great books.

Worth a listen and worth a credit. I highly recommend the Duke's Men series!

Lacking

Lady's story line is irritating. Pushy and lacking in personality. Not a match made in heaven.
