How to understand introverts better

Good book and worth listening more than one time. I like the idea of solitude and mental breaks when overwhelmed with group of people. Introvert’s event planning, getting engaged in meaningful conversation, bathroom breakers are example of good ideas to save social battery.

A must not only for introverts, but everyone.

I will definitely make it a point to practice putting these techniques to use in my own social life ( or pathetic attempt at one as some may see it). Not only is this an informative read for those who possess introverted tendencies, but equally so for those who may navigate through social settings with relative ease. It offers social butterflies some insight into the thought process of introverts as well as indicators of when their "social battery" is nearing depletion.

Lacks some nuances, but has some practical advice

Lacks a bit nuance, everyone is different. A younger me could have used some of the practical advices maybe but by now I know most of it. Some white lie excuses suggested were too much lies for me, but I guess the listener can take the advices that fits ones needs and taste.

I related to this book

very informative and I learn a lot about myself too. I'm keeping this book. I'm going to read more books about introverts to not perceive like this ever again.

Really Primitive

Incredibly repetitive. The definition of an introvert is already common knowledge, however this book seems to define it 30x in the first three chapters. Constant examples of introvert behaviour really reduce the signal to noise ratio.

Didn’t care for this book.

So I thought based on the title this would be a great book full of insights and actual advice, but making up lies and excuses to get away from people isn’t quite what I was looking for. Also didn’t get the whole social battery thing. To me, introverts don’t avoid social situations because they lose willingness to talk or interact, but rather because they feel ineffective and awkward. This book assumed we are already socially capable , which really isn’t the case. I didn’t find anything from this book to be really helpful to ME. Maybe others who have a different idea of introversion might find it helpful. For me, I’m gonna pass on any of the advice in this book. I’m not going to turn into a liar and phony to get away from people.
