Publisher's summary

From Wall Street Journal best-selling author Devney Perry comes a small town, fake relationship romance.

Eloise Eden’s pride and joy is her family’s hotel in Quincy, Montana. Her lifelong dream is to own The Eloise Inn. All she has to do is prove to her parents that she’s the epitome of responsible. That her days of being duped and making reckless decisions are history. She’s so close she can taste it.

Until after one weekend in Las Vegas, she comes home married to a stranger.

Jasper must have put her under a spell with those soul-deep eyes because after a single night together, they woke up husband and wife. Her only hope is to keep this marriage a secret until it’s annulled. Then she’ll pretend it never happened.

Except Jasper begs her to stay married. To fake it for three months so she can accompany him to a wedding. Maybe she’s lost her mind to agree. But her brooding husband seems desperate. It’s only three months, right? Then she’ll say goodbye to Jasper Vale, and with any luck, hello to her new hotel.

Story was so fun, but wrong narrators

The story was so great and I enjoyed it immensely. I did not think the narrators were the right pick though.

Magnificent audio and Las Vegas wedding storyline!

“I like perfect. I like imperfect too. I like wild and reckless moments you never forget like tonight.”

I did not see the twist coming of Eloise hooking up with Jasper instead of Lyla but it was written SPECTACULARLY! This is an accidental Las Vegas marriage storyline that was fascinating and had great depth! The plot picks up right at the end of Garnet Flats when Eloise, Lyla, Talia and Jasper are all in Vegas for Foster’s UFC fight. I highly recommend reading that book first! The storyline starts by detailing how Eloise and Jasper end up together that night in Vegas at a wedding chapel! I don’t want to spoil any more because the book is so good just reading as it develops!

The characterization of Jasper and Eloise during the course of the story is incredible! I loved watching the growth of each of them separately and together as there is so much more depth to both of them that keeps you invested in their journey! It will make you fall in love with both of them as people! Jasper definitely has all the grumpy male character vibes while Eloise is of course all sunshine! Even Jasper commented how she was so pure of heart and free. He may have the rough exterior but once you dive into this book, you will be swooning over him! “Fierce loyalty. A fierce heart. My Eloise.” I mean, I will take him if you don’t! Another remarkable book in the Eden series!!

Lance Greenfield and Lucy Rivers did a magnificent job with the audio of this book! I adore Lance and his voice was the perfect choice for Jasper! He’s got that raspy voice that is perfect for a grumpy character and on the flip side, Lucy was has a fantastic tone that is pleasant and enjoyable for Eloise. Together they made this audio such an easy listen!

Didn’t love the narrators

I really liked this story line but the narrators reminded me of Shakespearean actors. Their voices didn’t fit the characters or story at all.

Great story! Did not care for male narrator.

I adore the Eden series and could not wait for Jasper Vale. Unfortunately, Lance Greenfield’s female voice in this book (and in all his other narrations) has a Brooklyn accent. This just does not fly, especially for this novel’s Montana location.

4.5 ⭐️ story 3.5⭐️ audio

The narrators doing their own voices… fine. The narrators doing the opposite sex… terrible. Also I should take a whole star away just for the way he pronounced Nevada. 🤦🏽‍♀️
Anyway this was so good. There were some hiccups here and there, but thank the lord no third act breakup! Jasper was everything we want in a mmc and honestly Devney can do no wrong. It was lacking in interactions with the other family members I think. But I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series. Only two left?! Say it ain’t so.

I love this series, but…

I love the Eden Series, but this is definitely my least favorite so far. If you’re invested in the series it’s still worth the read of course. The narration was really bad, that might be why I didn’t like it so much. They made Jasper sound creepy. I’d read the physical book if I could go back.

Great story, not so great narrator

I love this series, and I love this story, but the male narrator did NOT fit Jasper’s character at all.

Love this family

I love this series, but the narrators in this one weren’t great. Very robotic and laughable when they tried to do the opposite gender voices. Just don’t. The enjoyed the story, but I’d say grab the physical copy on this one.
