About this listen

A sharp and scintillating summer novel that will make listeners laugh out loud and cry happy tears from the New York Times bestselling author of Yours Truly.

Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it's now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other’s out, and they’ll both go on to find the love of their lives. It’s a bonkers idea… and it just might work.

Emma hadn't planned that her next assignment as a traveling nurse would be in Minnesota, but she and her best friend agree that dating Justin is too good of an opportunity to pass up, especially when they get to rent an adorable cottage on a private island on Lake Minnetonka.

It's supposed to be a quick fling, just for the summer. But when Emma's toxic mother shows up and Justin has to assume guardianship of his three siblings, they're suddenly navigating a lot more than they expected—including catching real feelings for each other. What if this time Fate has actually brought the perfect pair together?

So beautifully written

Can’t wait to read more from this author Abby Jimenez. Loved this story, the love story, the friend story, and the family parts of the story. Heavy but so real, cried and laughed out loud.

Hilarious, heartbreaking, & beautiful

Abby doesn’t miss! As someone who grew up with a mother who battled mental health issues that manifested in neglect and abusive behavior, I deeply related to Emma. It was both triggering and healing. Justin was an absolute angel and saint and Maddy was the protective best friend every girl deserves. These characters were compelling, complex, and entertaining as hell. I loved every second of it! The narrators were also top tier! Petition for Zachary Webber to narrate every romantic MMC.

Another great story from Abby Jimenez

As with all of Abby’s books, I fell in love with the characters. Justin is a dream partner, and Zachary Webber’s voice matched perfectly. Though this book definitely deserves five stars across the board, I did struggle with how closely tied they were to characters from previous books — I kept getting stuck on those connections being far-fetched and hard to believe. They were about two degrees to Kevin Bacon. Having said that I consumed the book in its entirety in one day and plan on doing so again for the bulk of today. Like Abby’s other books, I savored and thoroughly enjoyed it, but “Yours Truly” will be hard to top for me.

Full circle moment

Oh this book was perfect 🥹!
The way Abby wrote in Emma’s trauma and how she was able to overcome so much made me cry. The story line was so beautiful and it wasn’t just a love story. It was a story about how you don’t let your past define you. She made emma her own hero and also have her a love story. But it wasn’t the average “the man comes in and saves her” she worked on herself and practiced self love by seeking out therapy and help. LOVED this book !!!!

All the feels!

All the feels!
This book definitely touches on some emotional topics but it ties into the character development and brings depth to the story, in my opinion. While it’s difficult to hear about the things that Emma suffered through as a child, she does come out the other end stronger, both mentally and emotionally and is finally able to accept love without the fear of loss.

Another wonderful story from Abby Jimenez. Thank you for the laughs. Less tears in this one than her first five novels.

The next yet❣️

I loved absolutely everything about it. Except that it didn’t go on forever. Such complexly and layered characters. Interesting and unexpected story lines. I’m in love with Justin and Emma and Maddy( what an amazing friend). I loved the characters popping in from other books. I’ll have start the entire series over. it’s going to hard to wait a whole year for a new Abby Jimenez book.

Full Circle

I waited patiently for months for this book to come out and it did not disappoint. I screamed on multiple account. I had “Ahhhaa” moments throughout. Pieces were being put together. I have read all books at least 3 times with Yours Truly behind my favorite but this one is just perfection. I wouldn’t change anything.

Abby's Finest Work

This book is stellar! It's intelligent in the way mental illness is described and its impact on family relationships. I found myself rooting for the three main characters: Emma, Maddie and Justin . I also appreciate the ties to Part of Your World, another fabulous book by the author. This book is emotional and thought-provoking. A true gem!
